@Bibendus: Go I would consider that bad behavior if his game was called Warcraft Party, but there's not a whole lot of relation between what I have planned and his game. His game was solely a map with minigames, and that was it. I want to have more than that, with my emphasis being between the games. It is not a sequel map by any means at all.
But I'll look into contacting him anyway.
Also; I have declared in the first post that the name is definitely NOT final by any means. It's just a generic name that I might stick with.
@Bibendus: Go My problem with that is TheZizz isn't the original creator of Mario Party which is where the party name comes from, so there is no reason for us not to use party in the name. There may even have been games before Mario Party that used Party. The final aspect is just that it's a party game, so why not call it a party?
@YoouuGooo: Go Maybe! We'll see as time progresses and if they release the Galaxy editor soon enough, maybe we can start a team to make the best party game. Two heads are better than one, but many heads are better than two! I'm gonna try like hell to lay down the groundwork for the party map to make adding individual games easily done, so that possibly when I get the main part of my game done others can throw their party games in, and then we'll have one hell of a party going on ;)
I've already come across someone else at TheHelper.net that has declared they're making a mini-game map, so this might be a little bit of a competition. I do not plan on using the same style of map that Uther Party was in WC3. My major emphasis is going to be on what's going on between the mini-games, as that they are only miniature to the rest of the game. Also, the name is not permanent by any means.
Main Concept ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
All players will begin in a city-like area. Throughout this city will be various NPC's. Many NPC's will be needing things done; such as delivering objects to other npcs, fixing their rat problem, et cetera. These tasks will be payed for, and each player will be racing to get the money to buy them goods that will help them in the mini-game area of the game. Many goods will be simple items, while others may be abilities. Each mini-game will be started after an agreed on time at the start of the game. The mini-game will be run, with the victor claiming a point. Shortly after the mini-game the players will be put back into the city to repeat the process. The players will be considered at the end of X mini-games with the most points will be the victorious!
Mini-games ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This area intentionally left blank
NPC Quests ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Types;
-Delivery and retrieval
-Animal infestation
Shop Items and Abilities ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Between Game Items;
-Pester Stick
- - This item may be used as a purge-like ability, slowing down fellow players as you run by them on your own task. If possible animate like tripping the other player.
-Jumping Boots
- - Gives a jump ability to used much like blink.
Items for Games;
-Extra chance
- - High-end item that allows a player to respawn after death in any event that involves knocking out players. Must be used while still alive to add a reincarnate-like ability to prevent players from respawning after all but one or two are still alive.
Miscellaneous ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
-Likely players will be able to buy victory points with high amounts of money, but that takes a lot away from equipment that they could use.
-Although unlikely in the Alpha release, I'd like to randomize the city. I may randomize the position on NPC's and what quests they give.
-Also unlikely early on, I want some tasks to be 'stealable.' That is, the NPC may pay up front, and the player can just run off with the money. However this will give them a bit of a bad reputation and NPCs may not give some tasks to players with certain levels of bad reputation.
-The players will be given a limited ability to harass the other players to slow them down.
-I want this game to be a very fast pace game, with gametime being approximately 30 minutes at the lengthiest.
-Add cinematic with description on how to play before any events with a ready key/ability to skip/advance.
As you can see, I'm still heavily lacking in a laid out plan, but it's a start! =] Feel free to throw opinions, thoughts, and ideas at me, but keep in mind that any mini-game ideas may or may not make it into the game, particularly in the first release. I will be very heavy on how much time I can spend on this, and I want to use it as efficiently as possible. Thanks for reading!

@TDelamay: Go Alright. I'll try to incorporate a small cinematic before each event, and then have players press a key or type -ready or something.
