Hey hey hey! I'm player from russian server. Today i wanted to publish my map at USA server. So i made all the steps from post #1 here (create in windows register string value to USA server). Than i launched editor and tried to login (coz login is necessary to publishing, isn't it?). But i have got message "You can't enter coz you don't have any account here bla bla bla".
So guys... You can't publish map to another servers without account been created there.
That's correct, you need to have an account to publish to that server, :(.
That's genius, but don't those guest passes only last 10 days at the most?
I've got the SEA version, so i'll automatically get a US account, but I could use that to upload any maps to europe? without having to download the game again?
Could I use a similar method for when SEA players get their US accounts to switch servers for the actual game?
Yeah, I haven't been able to see if they can be used after expired though. Expired trials can post on the forums, I figured it's worth a shot, ;).
You'd only be able to use it if you have an EU key on your account. But yeah, if your account is still active on SEA as well, you can publish through the Editor with no problems.
Sry sixen I don’t see any benefits in this one buddy :(
If we were aloud to log on with our accounts that would be awesome!
You don't see advantages because i'm too sly for you. I, on the other hand, took advantage of this. I added Guest Passes to my accounts (so I have accounts on SEA and EU for free) and can login through the editor through my own account. winrar iz me.
Yeah, login is still required... But yes, you can publish your maps without having the game client itself. So, if you can manage to get an account on the other servers (and have a character created since you can't do that through the Editor anymore), you can login through the Editor.
In a few simple steps! (Please note that you need to have an account on the server you wish to upload a map on.) The option to change your region through the Editor was removed during the WoL Beta, but the key can still be read from if recreated:
Go to Start > Run > type regedit
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\StarCraft II Editor\Preferences
Right-click in the left-pane, select "New > String Value"
Edit the name of the Key to be, "BattleNetHost" minus the quotes.
Double-click that key, set the value to be "us.logon.battle.net" minus the quotes.
The server names are as follows: (you only need the name, the IPAddress is just for reference)
NA: us.logon.battle.net
12.129.206.131
LA: Not sure yet
???
EU: eu.logon.battle.net
213.248.127.131
RU: Not sure yet

KR: kr.logon.battle.net
121.254.200.131
CN: cn.logon.battle.net

TW: Not sure yet

SEA: sg.logon.battle.net

PTR: public-beta.logon.battle.net or beta.logon.battle.net

They can't, you get a message saying it's out of time I think, :(.
