We can see a few new models GhostNova made. Any chance we could see some more screenshots or renders of what you've done, Ghost? Perhaps release that Reaver, even? And what are these new units? I see different Hybrids, some weird black techy Marine, an armored Spectre and a new Zerg unit. What are they?
And what happened to that Sunken Colony you were working on?
Sorry man no can do. Unfortunately I spent waaaay too much time on these as is. Maybe in the future I can work on figuring out decals but I'm too busy right now :(
And I would suggest changing the team color for the Shadowguard. Umojans use white team color, so the current Shadowguard team color parts should all be blue like on the marines, minus the pants, which don't have lights (he should have blue lights, too, if you ask me, like the Spectre has team colored lights on his pants). His left shoulder pad should be team colored and leave some room for a decal. And, I'm not too sure about the blue lights on the Marine's gun...He doesn't have it in the cinematics, does he?
Otherwise, the Marine looks frickin' amazing! D: (Though the texture on the front part of the arm could use some work, it looks stretched. In fact, you can even leave it white, since in the cinematics, it's missing that circular blue thing)
I hate to put off what i should be doing to make the Umojans but what the hell. Shadowguard with and without goggles are done now I'm starting the Marine.
By the way the SC1 Marine has Raynor anims so he use a grenade launcher ability just like the Amerigo cinematic. :D
Just keep in mind the Marine probably won't be exactly the same but I'll try to make sure the main look is there.
Nice! Could use a nice decal placement on the shoulderpad.
It's funny that icon is actually inspired me to do the spectre. I've had the model for a while but just realized nobody has a custom spectre out there so I would release it.
Hah, isn't that funny, I think I could make good use of it, too. It would make a good Shadowguard, seeing as how Shadowguard armor is supposedly similar to Spectre armor.
By the way, what about an Umojan Marine? Seeing as how Blizzard didn't include it in HotS (they're using the merc model instead), I figure many people would want to have the model, especially for the HotS campaign remake and for Soulfilcher's SC Expanded projects. I suppose you could even find a place for it in your campaign.
The Marine is a remake of the SC1 Marine design. I think it looks awesome. As for the Spectre, his body armor texture is based on the Ghost's, he has Ghost shoulderpads, a backpack, and a Canister rifle, also from the Ghost. It reminds me of a custom unit icon I made a long time ago, which looked like a mix between a Ghost and a Spectre.
Correct on the cinematic. It actually took place in a city, but StarCraft II developers said that they couldn't show that in SC1 with the limited tilesets they had at their disposal. Making a single tileset just for one mission was probably a bit too much work for them. The dialogue in the first game seems to indicate that the events took place on a planetary surface, not a space platform, but the latter is still plausible, as the dialogue remained vague enough to allow it. (Obviously on purpose) Not to mention it would be difficult to make a city tileset that's more of a cityscape than the badlands tileset. Too much work to create large doodads for structures, which are non-existant in other tilesets. Actual structures would seem strange in SC1, as neutral buildings are very rare. (with the exception of some damaged small structures and special structures like the Xel'Naga temple)
Ghost is from my campaign. Might go through some changes I definitely want new anims on him.
Glad you guys like the mechs I am surprised you guys don't know where I got the inspiration from :)
I'll give you guys Kerrigan but I gotta make some changes so she's less......Hawaiian dude lol
Actually, I know where you drew inspirations from both of those mechs. They look both uncannily just like their inspirations; The gold one is ED-209 from Robocop and the red one is the Uziel, which features on the front cover of Mech Warrior 4: Vengeance. You're welcome. ;)
As for the Kerrigan portrait...Why not make her hair like in the "Betrayal" cinematic?
Just a heads up guys I'm going to be very ghostly on this site for a while I was pretty busy before with other things but I just go a lot busier. So if I don't respond to things for days or weeks please don't take it personally.
I saw the portrait in the Blizzard Dota so I prob won't do it just because it would be a waste of time, I mean how long can it really take Blizzard to release something right? :)
You should post a pic. And if you think you might get busy, you should release everything that's done now real quick before you get busy for weeks and can't release anything. I'm sure the SC1 campaign remake could use some new models, especially portraits. :P

OMG that looks boss, please tell me this is close to a release state, I can't wait to play this :D
This hit all the right nostalgia notes!
So in this video, at 2:43:

Here, made an edit through photoshop of the Umojan Marine to make it look more like the cinematic model. Looks much better if you ask me.
Didn't realize you used the expansion Raynor Marine model for the Umojan Marine. O_o
That is way too much effort, would've been easier to use the actual MP Marine model and work from that, if you ask me.
Nah, just ridiculous. :p
But still, I guess you could make one eventually.

The spear is a pretty ridiculous idea.

I made a thread in the Request subforum a while ago:

Edit: Here, it's at the very bottom, third icon from the left, right next to the Firebat:

I'm really liking those mechs...And the redone Kerrigan portrait definitely needs to be released :P
I think the Devourer should have the 2 muta wings in addition to those smaller ones. In the CGI pics from BW, I recall they did have them.

You should release the bald Raynor portrait, then. :P
