I'm trying to get started on UI modding based on Helral's guide The Overide Method but i fail at the very beginning.
I don't understand how or where to get a blank SC2 layout file in which i can write stuff like in Helral's video guide.
When i download the attachments from the guide, they come out as XML files. I use notepad to be able to edit those files, but when i save it becomes an .txt file and it's not valid for importing as a custom layout file in the editor. I tried fiddling with the options of my MPQ editor but either i get to a file that i can't edit, or i get an error message saying i cannnot open x/y/z file due to invalid format.
I'm sorry for bringing forth such a basic problem, but i really don't know how and where to get started with working on sc2 layout files.
