I'm bringing this thread back because some new stuff appeared in the beta files before they shut it down. I found one of the Mutas evolutions and it's named Viper in the unit icon, which is weird because the tail does look like the Viper's tail. Two other models are called Protoss Snake Head and Protoss Snake Segment, and you can see the head is a heavily modified Carrier, it even uses the standard carrier textures. I believe these 2 might appear in a new version of the Lost Viking mini game, maybe a new blizzard mod? The textures for the segment are called GlaiveTron.
@Muspelli: Go Those are not in the beta. Only a few models aren't melee related. In fact we have only hints that the Defiler will be there, no texture or model to confirm it.
@AlexO6: Go That tentacle thing is called Zerus Tree Viper, it's a critter and as the name suggests will be found on Zerus. I think it may be incorporated into the swarm somwhow, unlocking an upgrade or unit evolution. The Viper's "head" is extremely similar to that Bane Creeper fan artwork in SC2 site.
@Bogdan254: Go Yeah those Ultra evos could easily be called Stank (green) and Torrasque (purple, but make it less purple please).
Names aside I love that hey're bringing the scrapped Predator ship, and that the Oracle uses the scrapped Stasis Orb model. They promised us the scrapped models in WoL, but of course that wasn't a wise decision because if they decided to use those model in the expansion we would react like "that isn't new, I've seen that model in thousands of custom maps before." And evos for Lurkers? Hell yeah!
But nothing beats Space Yetis, they can jump cliffs and they are fuckin' Space Yetis! :-)
@Occamsburningchainsaw: Go Unit icons wont show aything new. Most of them are for the melee units. The exceptions are the Nydus types and the Swarm Host / Locust variants.
@Occamsburningchainsaw: Go In the models files all those are called by their basic unit names + EX1 (that means HoTS) + A or B for green or purple variants.
So the 2 Ultralisks are UltraliskEx1A and UltraliskEx1B. But in the icon files for the Swarm Host variants are called Carrion and Creeper. The Swarm Host is called EggMonster in the files. The Locust is called SwarmHostSpawn and the variant in the screenshot is called SwarmHostSpawnFlyer.
The only one I didn't include was the green Viper variant, because it looks identical to the base model from a distance, it is only slightly darker.
@Bogdan254: Go Those are called ZergArtillery and ZergArtilleryEgg in the files. They are flying units but they only have a few and very simple animations.
The Egg is a weird mix of units, it has the Lurker forehead and the ass/tail is an overlord. The face and tusks look like the Leviathan's.
@Bogdan254: Go Here's what I could find except the Nydus Worms. There are textures for some other units but no models yet (Hydra evolution, devourer, guardian).
And in the data module there are hints to other models: a collector edition of the Ultralisk.
@Bogdan254: Go I believe all units will get morphs. The Beta has morph versions for the Baneling, Zergling, Roach, Swarm Host, Ultralisk, Viper, Broodlord, and some of the files hint to at least Hydralisks as well.
I checked the icons and artwork in a rush and I have to say they look totally off. They are not the same style or quality seen in WoL. I think they may have packed temporary artwork so we don't have access to what is packed in the final version.
EDIT: There are wireframes for 2 different Swarm Host models and at least 3 locusts and one of those has wings.
@Nebuli2: Go Was it ever used for that?
@Domper: Go Lol that would be nice.
Ohhh and I forgot to post the amazing... Thorn Lizard critter. Although I believe Three-eyed Gorilla Frog would be the appropriate name for it.

@Ahli634: Go But there are HoTS maps on NA right now.
@Keyeszx: Go I'm no longer responsible for those maps, and I don't even know the guy who re-published them. It seems he's not updating the map.

Lol, some of those evo names really took the pokémon approach. Gigalisk? Terrorzor? Trichinella? Magnathar? It can't be serious.

@GhostNova91: Go That's the oracel portrait right? I wonder why she has uncut nerve cords.
@AlexO6: Go Then how could they have the models?
