Looks fine to me. I don't see much point in complaining about the lack of a feature they didn't claim would be in the patch in the first place.
Complaining about the duration of development is like that old trope involving children on a trip, repeating "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
I participated in the patch alpha testing. Now that it's moved into beta (depending on who one asks) with a larger apparent pool of testers, seems safer to discuss it.
I am skeptical posting galaxy code publicly would be an issue.
Between player-instanced lighting, painted light regions in the terrain editor, and light actors, we can expect to see the quality of lighting increase a great deal.
The email is titled "Welcome to the StarCraft II Arcade Beta" and the patch version reads "1.5.0.21571 Beta", so I'm gonna go ahead and call it a beta.
The Arcade alpha testing was lonely; at least now more people will be on battlenet.
(Or everyone will be so busy working on their own projects that it will continue to be a ghost-town, complete with tumbleweeds and crotchety ol' coot affixed to a squealing rocker.)

The results of my reference tests.
Haha, I never would have guessed that syntax. Thanks.

Please elaborate. I've been trying to figure out the syntax for the last two weeks, with no results.

OneTwo, your incantation has released the prime evils! The world is forfeit.
Which is to say certain people on certain forums are certainly going to launch into tirades now that the first shot has been fired.

EDIT: Oh, you received a different email. Haha.
The Arcade alpha ran for about 2 and a half weeks, which was surprisingly long. So yeah, the beta will probably last a few days.
