Yea, not perfectly genuine. I've tried different modifications, and the one you see looked better than others in terms of geometrical harmony. But when (if) I be remaking dune 2, I'll create something closer to the original.
It's weird on a static image, but unexpectedly creepy in game: big, semitransparent. greenish, slowly walking like a crippled spider... Killing that thing feels like making our world a better place.
Yea, when harkonnen soldiers witnessed sonic tanks for the first time, they just laughted like "hey, guys, check that, they like porn so much, so even installed a dish to download it right inside their tanks". Or "are they going to translate shitty atreides soap operas to us so we die out of boring?". Or they exposed their asses with "detect this!" shouts. Or shouted "hey, radiate some microwaves here, I need to warm up my soup my wife gave me". And then their heads just exploded, they hadn't time even to change smiles to grims of fear. So, probably peaceful look is one of the advantages of this tank.
To make them slide I pause anims and launch them to a random point with a slow mover with a littel sinusoidal overlay. It provides more control than the force effect.
... And made another unit for my map, the sonic tank.
Work smooth for me, after finished downloading (each is about 10 mb, so may take time).
Sun Idol model used for my new (not rol) map. Units have base and upgraded versions, and that speckled one is upgraded, shinier and sunnier version. And beams - yea, something isn't right. Maybe they are too greenish. I tried to imitate their RoL attack, they weren't animated there, just yellow beam and bright aura.
Relax, you can't feel it, everything just changes, and no one notices anything except the time traveller. But I haven't done alot, it's not easy to push the whole history, too much negative feedback, it just consumes the noise I produce.
But what I have done for all of us is that sc2 wasn't released in 2007. That thing was ugly and failed.
Time machine. Writing this comment from roman bath, smoking mutant weed from 2075 year, watching warcraft movie, but hands are still trembling after almost being eaten by a dinosaur.
Space destroyer
I also recreated its wc3 look.
There's also an attacking version of medivac, adn this is its attack nimation:
And also, created a simple model of a spaceship with an awkward tail:
Reworked another wow model. That creep normal texture is a nice source of natural surface noise.

recorded some units in action
So many mech models can be constructed out of siege tank components!
For this machine I implemented turret behavior to both yaw and pitch to the target.

I'm afraid, it's imprecise assumption, I don't even know what is it.
Yes, it could, I just don't use campaign/hots dependencies in actual map.
