Anyway, not to get off-topic here... I think i once saw 2 turrets spawn when i rebuilt turrets while the other turret slots at my base were occupied by my enemies turrets.
Post that on blizz official forums. These statements should go there.
People have been complaining about it since it was released in beta. They are working on it, and you know how fast they are...
I think a way better system would be to randomly sort maps, and leave popularity out completely. Makers of the map can check total number of games played and games/hour in the editor (to see whether the map is actually being played).
That way, a different map would always be on top. every few hours a couple of new maps from the bottom of the list are moved to the top (or everything is randomized again). So people to lazy to scroll will just pick whatever map is up, and if they like, they'll use the search function to find it again once the map isn't on the first few pages. Probably not a perfect system, but way better than only 30 maps being played in total...
Ugh... i hate it when this happens... i know my map was top of page 2 after release... Then comes the reset and it's all down again...
I'll see if i can get people to play it tommorow, organized. I'll ask my friend to get on, then get on the IRC and ask for other people to join in and hopefully boost it's popularity... If you wanna join in, i'll post tommorow when i'm ready. If i get enough people, i'll make it a mini tournament, and if it saves replays i'll probably even cast em for my channel.
Lazy, try using armor repair ability and having energy regen and civilian repair in your shield slots (energy regen first, civilian once you get dusk wing)
start the game off with armor repair, buy 1 machine gun, keep the cannon, buy a heavy armor and buy the energy regen. Upgrade everything except the cannon once, energy regen first probably, get banshee, sell cannon, buy more guns and heavy platings. Keep spamming repair and you'll live longer than usual, but wraith will still die like crap. With a high enough energy regen, the banshee can keep itself safe by using the repair abilities (both shield and armor) and running away shortly to heal up a tiny bit, wait for creeps, run in using creeps as meat shields, make a hit, run back out (the guy won't see you till its too late and will maximally get one shot off at you since he will autoattack creeps).
If you have lots of health, fly in, deal damage till youre in the orange, run out.
Once you have a dusk wing, everything is WAY easier since you can get afterburner and civilian repair and more weapons.
but yeah, having special "abilities" is still a nice idea. Tanks and goliaths are too hard to kill early on...
Ok lets start by looking at the available weapon choices for this one:
Machine Guns:
Soo all in all a fighter + machine guns is pretty much a suicidecommando cause to do damage you have to be in range of the enemy and with basically zero hp/shields, few armor slots and less weapon slots than a tank/mech you are screwed from the start.
Cannons:
Cannons have the same problem as machine guns since most players i encounter dont take machine’s anyway -> you are in range of the enemy -> you die -> the end
Rockets:
Alright that leaves rockets as the only reasonable choice you have but since many guys take rockets as well because they are afraid of close combat you cant micro jack and die after 2 salves from a thor/tank as lvl 4 fighter.
So the problem is that in a game where everyone has potentially the same range as you but more hp/weapon slots/armor slots additional speed means nothing at all. Sure you can escape faster but if all you can do is escaping... well you get the idea. Also it is much harder to micro a flyer because he has to accelerate after stopping and if you order him to go somewhere he will slowly fly a pretty circle before doing what he is supposed to do resulting in deaths and sad pilots.
My suggestion if you want to maintain the concept of hitrun for the fighter would be
either give them +2 to sight and weapon-range
or scrap invisibility as purchaseable ability and give it to the fighter only (since it is totally useless as of now course everyone can see the distortion where a stealthed enemy is) make it usable infight and allow you to fire while stealthed. It should drain energy pretty fast of course and after all it is counterable with probes.
With one of these changes the fighter could become a micro-intensive but deadly sniper which would be rather fun to play in my book.
I use the fighter constantly. I die as crap as the wraith, but almost never do as the banshee or dusk wing. And i use machineguns. Flying plus speed is an advantage since you can run away over edges of cliffs, while your pursuers have to go around and use the ramp, which most likely will be filled with creeps anyway. Add a snare drone and afterburner to that and you can't be caught.
Altough, i really would like a sight range upgrade... i like to stand on the edge of a cliff in the center, and can't even see the right-side ramp... Unless someone else gets me sight, i can't even use the range advantage of rockets (i tried rockets one game and went back to machineguns...). The weapon range upgrade could be useful as well and actually make the fighters more unique and useful - i rarely see a good enemy fighter...
Now, cattlebruisers do just fine in my opinion. Hell, healing gear is even OP if you ask me... Not even energy drain weapons stop healing gear before you die... But an ability that makes all drones attack a certain target (without any special bonus. maybe even add a 10 second cooldown...) seems like a good idea.
And i like the idea of making each chassis unique by adding such "abilities" (Fighter range, Carrier drone focus fire, etc.)
Also, Eiviyn, you gonna use the kill credit system i sent you? I know i totally owned a guy yesterday, but died when he had about 4 HP cause of creeps (effing short line of sight...) and then the AI player came up and shot 1 rocket and killed him and recieved credit...
And, just to be annoying and put it out there yet again, always ready to help you if you need it ;)
FFS... Had to edit 5 billion times cause i couldn't get quote to work, and when i did my own words were deleted...
I think their HP is fine for what they are (super-fast hit+run fighters), would prefer seeing them excel in that role rather than just end up being a flying mech.
I don't want a huge health boost. 25-50 is enough. Wraith just dies way to fast in comparison to all other vehicles. I tried playing siege tank as my first vehicle, and i die rarely early game. Wraith just gets owned by everything... i and my ally (raven) TOGETHER couldn't take out a lone siege tank because in comparison to us, it had way too much health to kill before we died. The raven at least has 150 shields, which makes it have a third more total health than the wraith...
Edit: Done with the kill system. Copy the triggers and variables, i left comments inside to explain what i do, and i hopefully didn't miss anything.

1.) Can you enable replay recording for the next version? It's hard to cast the map live with all the microing... PM me if/when you do this, disable during version after that if you want to.
2.) Pilot has vision. Not good. I rely on abusing cliffs so that people can't hit me cause they can't see me - if i kill someone he can just blink to the ramp and run up, giving everyone vision. pilots should have no vision so that their only purpose is to pick a spawn point
3.) It always says "Statistics saved". What does it save?
4.) Maybe add really expensive level 5 items (40-50k minerals each. Or add vespene to the cost as well?) This will make the game more interesting late game because you can continue to customize stuff and arent stuck with 200k minerals and equal stats as your opponent... Games rarely get to that point, but this would extend that point REALLY far
5.) Suggestion for use of vespene gas: Ability upgrades? Unique items?
6.) Give the wraith 25-50 more health? *puppy-eyes*
7.) If creeps kill someone, dont let a player get the kill (unless the player is still alive and attacked the dying player within the last 5 seconds)
I'll come back with more once i remember my ridiculously long list... Also, if you have the time, mind explaining why you disagree with any points i have stated, if you disagree with them? Just wanna know :) Thx.
By the way, something i forgot to mention... Wraith and Raven have WAY too little health... I and my friend couldnt kill a siege tank together...
Add snares/long range weapons to that and wraiths and ravens instantly die. And i make as much use of the heal ability as i can (i even got myself the +energy regen item for that and upgrade it first...) Banshees and science vessels onwards do fine, just the initial vehicle dies instantly. I usually get about 5+ deaths with my wraith, and usually only about 1-2 deaths with the banshee and duskwing together (Unless i go against some really good players)
Also, could you somehow make the shield and armor repair items base off maximum health? right now it takes around 20 uses to heal up completely which with a 5 second cooldown is almost 2 minutes... By which time you're most probably in the red again
And the item that repairs your life and drains energy apparently doesn't work :/
Another thing... You planning on more vehicles? If yes, mind saying which ones? I'm really interested. I'm willing to help you out if needed, i currently have lots of spare time and know the data editor... And are you going to add Protoss vehicles? i know it wouldnt fit the theme, but i don't think there are many, if any, terran vehicle models left...
DON'T put everything into one shop. it's gonna make shopping way harder cause of all the submenus. Just place the shops closer to each other and increase their range so that you can shop from them while standing in the center of the base.
Also, epic map =D I and my friend got addicted to it.
If you ever re-do the terrain, can you try placing the auto-turrets guarding the base so that they cannot attack everything below the ramp of the closest control point? I find it too hard using the short range weapons to kill other players when trying to cap their points close to their base because they can run away and the turrets will kill me (at least before i get my Dusk Wing and some decent armor upgrades)
