THat's the plan. The cradle/nest has a hole, looks like an entrance, where it will pop, like in the tremor movie. You can build the nest somewhere else, like a nydus, and the cerebrate can be moved there via the nest/canal.
The unpowered animation set is also planned. Guts will spew from it's sides, and the cerebrate would deflateand slop down. Then it will inflate again back to form.
Sounds like a fun mechanic, nice! You have some great ideas, can't wait to see more :)
I've been looking at Starship trooper lore on the Bugs. Their transport concept is quite interesting. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Bug race in sc2?
Aren't the Zerg pretty much that? :P
The Cerebrate looks pretty impressively well done, and up to SC2 standards, too. :)
I'm not sure about that three-pronged mouth it has, though, I recognize that piece from a Zerg doodad.
Also, would be cool if the Cerebrate model had a "rebirth" model for when you kill it with something other than Dark Templars and it regenerates.
Would also be cool if it had a deep tunnel ability with animation, where it could resurface at another place (suggestion for your campaign).
Although the textures look a little pixelated (probably because they're extremely high-res) on the models, the final versions of both the Observatory and the Arbiter Tribunal look absolutely sublime! WOW. Can't wait to see these in-game and even build them and destroy them :)
I know of it, but it hasn't been released publicly yet, and it's still a kitbash with no portrait, death models, etc. It's still a fantastic kitbash, nonetheless. :P
I meant no offense or disrespect, by the way. x)
And holy crap, it's looking better and better every time, Gna. Looks fantastic. You sure do work incredibly fast.
It's not the only Protoss building that was in the alpha but not in the final game. They also had vastly different models for the Fleet Beacon (which looked a little better) and the Robotics Support Bay (much uglier, if you ask me, than the one we have now):
If you're looking for projects to do next, after all the Protoss stuff, for Mass Recall 6.0 Silver, the BW Queen unit has no portrait in LotV, nor has any new patch since ever given it a portrait. It still uses the HotS Locust portrait...It is in dire need of a new one.
As for other stuff...Well, we're still missing a proper Soul Hunter model (with portrait) (GhostNova's is still missing a portrait and the texture is just the Stalker texture) and a proper Arclite Siege Tank model (I would go with this one first, given that it's also a unit that is in SCBW):
And then there's Twilight Archons, which look different from the final SC2 Archons:
Looks great, but, IMO, the team color needs to be fatter and less spread out. The building itself could be slightly bigger and the leftmost arm should be aligned with the rightmost one, but otherwise, that's cool, too.

Says the guy with the worm avatar. :P

Looks ok, but a little small. Doesn't look quite like the other SC2 buildings or the Citadel of Adun.
I like how the Shuttle seems heavily inspired from this:
Rather than looking like the SC1 version.
As for the Carrier, while Blizzard made a "SC2" variant of the BW Carrier, I still prefer yours. Yours fits better than theirs:
However, their version of the "Observatory" (called "Null Circuit" back in the alpha version of WoL) looks on point:

Same with the original reavers (Could make for an interesting DT or Tal'Darim unit):

(Sorry, I was look at old SCBW and SC2 alpha stuff and went on a little nostalgia trip x) )
