OMG! I don't know how many hours I feverishly worked with this and now I found out that you have TO MAKE SURE TO CHECK "Display Mineral Cost" in the "Research Abilities" Info Panel. (Where you put the cost of your upgrade)
Careful of the last part of this Tutorial, when you select ability do not view Rally or the client will crash, I found this out by pressing R over and over again the client would crash because I was trying to find my Ability called Research-Marine and Rally is the first R.
You must use the scroll if searching for things starting with R, There might be more problems within the scrolling so I have chosen to always use the scroll.
I think it has something to do with spells not having anything the Upgrade can change so it glitches out trying to find anything and crashes.
For some strange reason the costs wón't accumulate :S

it seems when im in the effect editor of the tech and set it to add it keeps putting it back to set been at it for a while now but am starting to see stars atm :P and also the client seems to crash often when working in the upgrades tab.
If anyone has a clue could you let me know please ?
Also atm it seem 255 lvls do not work but 100 is (saw someone make a post about it).
it seems i first had to remove the mineral costs in teh info tab of the ability.
Then add it again with new mineral and vespine cost.
After that i had to put in a seperate effect for both the minerals and vespine..
This tutorial works for everything up until the accumulating cost. The "Resource" options in the last screenshot is not available. I tried the two fixes by icebane and djatwork but the fields simply don't display.
Scratch that... works fine. Someone's post earlier mentioning it doesn't work past 127 may be true because I was using 200. Dropped down to 100 and it worked.
Now I'm working on getting units to have incremental costs :)
I am having a problem, when i did this none of my units that i gave the upgrade to receive the actual thing...? it does not show up at all on armor weapons or anything normaly they would have a little thing that sais, +5.3321 damage in green or red writhing or whatever, but none of that..? do u have any idea

Im following this tutorial and its great, so i want to create another upgrade. how do i increase the supply for units? i found no option.
like i want my supply depots to do +1 for 2 levels instead of just a static 8. upgrading to 9, then 10. maybe so on if i want more.

messing with the accumulating research cost is buggy, it's so slow and freezes for about 10 seconds when changing the values for it
just wasted hours of my life on this only to find yes, limiting the upgrade levels makes it magically work.
originally i had it set to 200, dropped to 100 and mysteriously.. it's all fine.
+1 to the editor being a super laggy pos during this stuff too. freezing galore changing the research stuff, uhh.
Yeah, 100 is the max.
Go into the Data Source: Requirement
Make a new Requirement with a similiar name to your upgrade.
Make a "And" requirement Node.
Put TWO "Equal" requirements under the "And" Node
Under "both" Equal Node, put two more nodes.
Under "both" Equal Node, make one node a Constant with a value of 0.
Under "both" Equal Node, make one node a CountUpgrade.
Make One CountUpgrade with an State of "Queue", and the other "In Progress"
How do you even do the requirement node? I can create them but how do I put them under another node?
