I got up to step 2 ... then it gets confusing there...
Read these wiki pages and this entire tutorial is obsolete.

Why have dozens of lag inducing stacked mineral patches when you can make just one with infinite resources and have workers harvest super fast.
Or worse ones that regenerate resources.
