I have been wanting to edit the CommandPanelTemplate frame, by using the auir chef override approach (that is, <Frame type="CommandPanel" name="CommandPanel/CommandPanelTemplate" file="CommandPanel">), but I havent been lucky. Editing <Frame type="CommandPanel" name="GameUI/UIContainer/ConsoleUIContainer/CommandPanel" file="GameUI"> works without problem, however. Do I need something special to do?
you can't override a template with the override stuff used for the aiur chef map, but you can override a location that uses the template, or stuff in a location that uses the template.
Hi, would love to remove the button off right above the command card. Please, do anyone know where in the SC2Layout files is the button located at? Been searching around but with no success.
I simply removed it via moving the whole inventory panel off the screen. But this isn't a good long term solution, since got plans to use inventory. :/
BTW, the command card, minimap and info panels' frames are actual 3D models. I'd love to find a way so that their sizes are set to absolute values rather than scaled according to screen resolutions via the following at ConsolePanel.SC2Layout:
Hey guys, thanks for the tutorial so far but I've got one problem
I want to move the whole Info panel like it is in SC2 to the right bottom side.
After it just disappeard after changing the minimap and the command card I tried the files from OneTwoSCs tutorial map (great vid btW, helped me getting this all started)
So now I have it on the position he has and after trying to move it again it is like the screen is splitted in two sides, I can move it around on the left side but on the right side it disappears o_O
had to move the imported ones so they wont override the originals and that stopped it from crashing but now i dont know how to get it to work with the new field in the data editor. anyone know?
Ok. This is fixed. Putting in here for those who might not know how. Every time a major patch updates, Blizz may have tweaked the GameUI.SC2Layout file. So the thing to do is to pull the updated GameUI.SC2Layout file with MPQ Editor, edit it and reimport to your map. The location is here in the computer:
Adding this SC2Layout file in the Default SC2 UI Settings in the Data Editor will override the two anchors "Bottom" and Right" to these new values.
file="GameUI" tells the game to modify the file GameUI.SC2Layout
name="GameUI/UIContainer/ConsoleUIContainer/BattleNetButtonFriendsFrameImage" tells the game to modify the frame with the same path and name
The rest is the same.
Edit: The path to the new SC2Layout files is patch.SC2Archive/Mods/Core.SC2Mod/Base.SC2Data/UI/Layout/UI/
All right, fixed it.
Got a pretty dumb question - where in the map are these files located? Can't seem to find them at all....
i've read through this thread and some people have accomplished what im failing to do. i have limited experience editing xml
i want to limit the infopanelgroup to 12 units and have them take up the entire panel.
all i've gotten to work so far is offsetting the panel. :(
assistance?
Ok I know where is to import now lol.
Anyone happen to know where are the inventory and equipment toggle buttons located in the SC2Layout files???
Also there's a bug, if i go in and out of cinematic mode, all info panels, minimap panels, command panels is off...

Aye, I learned that last night. Too bad :(
Seems I cant create new emplates either. I gues si have to rely on the older method then?

Seems like either the battle net icon or the inventory icon

Is there some XML based way to set their size absolutely rather than through scaling?
Thanks for the tutorial, very helpful.

when changing side='left' to side='right' also swap pos='min' to pos='max' or viseversa
If you use custom GameUI.SC2Layout for since patch 1.3, game crashes at loading. Anyway to fix this, guys?
@SphereOfSilence: Go
Prolly requires new LayOut Files ...... which is prolly gonna make a lot of people sad.
Try taking a new 1.3 map open it with mpq editor ... extract the layout file you need to modify .... modify it....
import it into your map and see if it works...

where is the UI in patch.SC2Archive?
also this is not really clear to me: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/2267589748
Is it enough to ad new ui the data editor or what?
@Hookah604: Go
You can't use the same files that you used pre-1.3.
Let's say you pre-1.3 used to modify GameUI.SC2Layout as follows to move the battlebuddy icon to the lower right of the screen:
In 1.3, you don't replace the file itself. Instead you override specific parts of it. Here's an example to achieve the same as in the example above:
Ohh fuck great, I will have lots of work to change my stuff.
Also where can I find the new 1.3 UI in patch.SC2Archive or can somebody upload it?
