Why not? this stupid competition that mapster created really injured the community when the game first came out, its time to end it -_-. Galaxywiki.net is very useful and over 60% of it is stuff that is not on mapster anyways. I encourage EVERYONE to use multiple sites for help, using just 1 limits you.
Back when I joined master there was no competition and that site was just laughable.
Edit: Ok having looked at it again I unfortunately have to make a correction. I thought our wiki was backward and lacking useful info but in comparison it is good.
Also I was not able to find one fact Sc2Mapster did not already mention, they still do not know what the Battery type ability does.
:P actually they do have several :)), I go there every now and then, its mainly tutorial wise though, We have more, but they have some that are better written and such. but still we are a failing community we need as much help as we can get. I think the competition is pretty much over anyways but still haah

In this testmap, I use the Zhakul Das Obelisk Emissive texture to swap out 4 textures of the Thor, the body diffuse and emissive as well as the cannon diffuse and emissive, without reimporting the texture or anything.
Hey guys I've been trying to use Thrikodias' custom texture for the Dark Mothership Core but I'm having no luck. Can someone help me out? I've done a Dark Mothership texture successfully but I can't seem to get this one to work.
It seems there was a pretty significant update at some point: You can now create multiple texture objects for the same texture file, even using different slots, and it will work properly (thanks Bommes for notifying me).

I'm trying to do something like this, but make the green lines the player's color. I tried editing the texture and making the green lines transparent, but now the lines just show up all white. Then to test, I changed the texture to a completely transparent texture, and the lines were still there! The rest of the unit was colored with the player color though. Any idea what's going on here?

Well after doing some re-texturing to some textures files, I tried to Import them back into the game and now I'm getting a error message that tells me its unable to load image and Core: a required object could not be found.
I've done this before roughly about a year ago and haven't had any problems with it up until now. What has happen to the textures files it's preventing me importing back into the game?
Edit: Ok that was a pretty stupid question I had there. I eventually figure out what I was doing wrong . Turns out I just had to save the map for the texture to register in the editor.
What I'd like to know is how do you know which texture slots are available and which texture belongs to which slot?
I know there's a trigger function to get the texture slot name of a texture, but shouldn't there be an easier way to find this information in the cutscene editor?
I even opened up a few models in Blender using m3addon and wasn't able to find any references to "main" or "hair".
You can use any slot except the Decal slot (that one only works for decals). Just use a different slot for each diffuse/emissive/normal if the model uses several textures of those types.

anyone had any luck using this on the war3 assets?
Haven't managed to swap textures on any of them yet
Actually, managed it now:
No substrings like _Diffuse. Only enable the slot main.
No underscore after model name.
Can look weird though, here's the war3_ChaosWarlord with marine diffuse next to his normal brothers. He's got a square shield now for some reason.

Excellent, I got the re-textures files to work. For a moment there I worried that I couldn't do this no more. Check out the Purifier Nexus I made.
