Id like a tutorial that explains hotkeys in the editor. ie: I didnt know that in the region layer of the terrain editor, you can ctrl+click 'n drag to change the shape sizes of a region
I'd love a tutorial on making a healing and/or repairing beam with specified sounds and visual effects. I tried adapting a beam tutorial for weapon beams but had no luck there.
I would LOVE a tutorial about scripting in Galaxy. The editor is sooo tedious to work with that learning Galaxy scripting seems like a necessary step in order to be able to really create some cool things, without spending hours and hours fiddling with annoying little windows and growing a repetitive strain injury in the process. Problem for me is that I have no clue where to start, and I can't find any tutorials on this matter.
S3rius posted a great example map of how proper galaxy code should look like, but I just don't know where to start.
Also, the part of the forum that is dedicated for Galaxy scripting seems to be filled with mostly GUI questions, so not much help there. If anyone could write a tutorial on how to create, for instance, a tower defense (or any map for that matter, it's just for the semantics and the right mindset to work with galaxy) in pure galaxy, I would be most grateful.
I'm trying to make a mod where Corruptor's corruption ability has a different usage.. Made a copy of the ability (well I duplicated the whole unit) and the copy was too "pale" - had no values set whatsoever, but the point is - I also spent quite some time by looking and checking the original Corruption ability and never actually found the "field" in which the effect (target takes up +20% damage for 30s) is done..
I'd like to make it reduce the target's range and fire-rate by 30% instead to see how it works in an actual battles instead.. :)
Have some other actual ideas of tweaking some other spells, but I decided to start at this one..
It can also be a good thing if you could make a whole generic original description tutorial where it's nicely described the difference between behaviours, spells, spawning units and effects.. That kind of stuff really makes me confused.. :/
I'd love a tutorial about making a RPG, complete with everything you need (Data Editor, Trigger editor etc). At the end of the tutorial (video or only text based tutorial) we should have a complete, yet simple, RPG map with at least one hero with some spells :)
Hi im trying to learn data editor and all of his potential
but i cant create attribute who increase dmg whit % and armor whit %
also i need to know how i can create spell whit dmg= func(my attribute)
10x
Okay i searched through your forum, and i have messed around with this for 2 hours.... i give!!! how do i, through data editor, create submenus on units? i have a SCV, and i have all the pictures of the basic and advanced structures there... but how do i add what structures show up in the different submenus when you click them?
1 . go to the command card 2 . add a button to use for submenu 3 . Command type = Submenu, Command card 1or 2 or 3 or 4(one being the current one you are on probably) 4. add abilities to that specific command card and don't forget to make a sub menu(its kinda like a like on a website) back to your original command card.
Hope this helps you endless struggle to find how to make submenus! :D
I'd very much like a tutorial showing how to make a passive ability that gives units a 200% speed buff whenever they kill a unit. I would also like a tutorial showing how to make a passive ability that gives units a % chance to stun anyone that attacks them.
Basically, I need help with reactive passive abilities.
Request by drummerboy 1151: Can someone explain how to make a critical strike you can level up? Using data editor or triggers i don't care much but i know its easily doable i just don't know what i'm doing. Thanks.
I would like a tutorial (or even just a brief explanation) showing how to make target-less missiles.
I need missiles that fly straight and then collide with units in their path.
(I've seen this in action in numerous maps, but I can't seem to reverse engineer it).
EDIT*
Bah, I didn't see that this request had been made before (but is still unsolved):
"I'd really love a nice tutorial explaining how to build weapons or abilities making use of bullet collision (ie. Shooting a missile towards the target point, and colliding / doing damage with the first unit it hits). Preferably without using (at least not too many) triggers. Trigger,Data Gurrgel"

I'm not gonna have time to make a full tutorial
And for a request for a tutorial i would like a learn-able abilities tutorial, such as after each level a hero gets to choose which abilities it wants to learn/level-up. That would be very helpful for me.
Would be great if someone has a tutorial that shows how to costumize the UI.

I would like a tutorial that explains how to make/build a flying shooter game like "Big Blue"

Id like one on fully customizable UIs. I have no idea how to do it right now :D

Can someone create INDEPENDENT TORSO tutorial ?
Where I can move unit but its torso is facing specific direction.
I need that...
Thank you,
tigerija.

Not sure how thats done, perhaps with turrets, anyway, someone needs to discover this before it can be taught. Just like multi-plane.
One guy made system similar like Wc3 trackables. Where you can detect mouse hover.
It should be possible, if in Wc3 is possible to make torso face some angle...
