Hi I'm entirely new to the map editor...just decided to start creating maps. I wanted to start with something which I presume to be very easy...I am just curious about easier things like..how can you make it so a building can only build certain units? Or perhaps add units to an existing building..not just one already prebuilt, but so if the player builds one they have access to those units?
I guess an example I could think up is this: Player 1 is Terran, and builds a barracks. Could I enable it to be able to produce firebats, medics, etc...and possibly without a tech lab?

I'd like a tutorial on water. I just can't get it. My water is hanging in the air in a square. It looks really weird. :/ I really want to know how to 'lower' or 'raise' water and how to put it in.

you just click edit on the water selection and you can change literally everything to do with the water including height
I'm looking to create a full conversion mod for Starcraft 2 but I'm not a programmer so I need to be able to do everything in the data editor/triggers. The biggest thing that I need is a way to have units revolve around other units. Basically I want to modify a Carrier so that all the Interceptors are revolving around the Carrier like satellites in orbit. Then, when they "see" an enemy they fly off orbit to attack. Once the enemy is defeated they fly back to their orbit path around the Carrier. Is something like that possible? Thanks.
Hi. I kinda wanted to make a request. Would it be possible to just make a map with a white only / green only textures for a green room?
Hey I made this quickly, it isn't perfect but its a start. Its a pure green map and includes right mouse button camera rotation and pressing Q/W to hide and show the UI. There is a problem when you put the camera past a certain angle the green will have two separate colours though will look for a solution to that problem. The second is the sky-box is black so will also look for a way to make that pure green also.
There is a way of making the floor black. When you are painting the textures there is a button which can hide/show textures. This way you can make the map pure black if you wish.

I'm looking for a tutorial/tutorials that can help me implement a camera system that works like the following games:
-Alien Swarm -Smash TV
I already know how to make the character move using WASD so that parts covered... heres what I need!
-Player continuously attacks as long as RMB is held down (example: shooting a gun until you let go of trigger)
-Targeting crosshair that follows Mouse Movement and fires bullets on its exact location
-Ability to Run and Shoot at the same time
If I can get help with those 3 notes I would be forever grateful!
Could someone make a tutorial on how to change an upgrade's cost? Because in my research ability I set the cost requirements to 300 minerals but in-game it does not display that it costs 300 in it's tool tip, even when I check the box for it above. I've been trying to figure this out for the last like hour... pissing me off.

You can modify the UI (there are a few tutorials showing how to implement custom UI's or change the position of the default one etc.). Although the UI only applies to the current map so to my knowledge its not possible to create a custom UI for watching replays. While watching a replay it will force the default UI onto the player so you wont even be able to see the any changes you made to the UI map wise.
Ive looked around the tutorial section but found nothing about the following. i might be wrong cause im reading the titles wrong. but if u have read a tutorial about the next item just pass it along please :]
i want a tutorial explaining how to make "advanced ability's" not like; Click shit happens. but more like. select target -> something happens -> first hit after that something happens -> next 10 hits something else happens.
Like a larget chain of events but not timed together but action driven.
I want a tutorial expresly about making cinematics, all the advance things like making a unit talk, making them move and attack and how conditions work and stuff.
