i dont know what im doing wrong, i import all except M3 then i save and close it entirely then i open it bak up again
import M3 then it makes a entirely different folder and the model is purple. here is how it looks
@Sanctitty: Go
make sure all files are in same folder
upload all textures
if any textures look like they are in a folder after you import, right click on them "Move Files" by defuat, it moves them to {root} hit ok, save, quit, reload, import model, do the same with the move, and you should be good.

Hey, first off, thanks so much for this. This is awesome.
I've got the models in my map. However, I'm having trouble making the attack animations work. Does anybody know of a tutorial or guide for adding in attack animations and such? For example for the lich king Attack animation to play when he attacks.
Will someone take humanoid unit models from SC2, and modify their skeletons so it doesn't include a weapon. THEN code in a weapon system for the model to HOLD weapon models?
In WC3, I saw a ORPG where they took custom unit models and manage to attach weapons to their hands, and even animating the actions properly.
Example:
Marine + Psi Blades = Halo Fan Energy Sword unit.
Or you can make it possible to arm Marines with plenty of equipments.
there is currently an issue with attack animation names, for example, the lichkings attack animation is called "attack2h" , if you select this from the animation list, the game will not know how to play it due to its name.
Currently for the lichking model at least, if you do not select any animations at all (let it auto select defaults) it will automatically add attack - attack04, and he will auto attack ingame.
We will be able to change animation names soon however.
Hey, I have another question. Since we can only use the default selected animations, is there any way to get one of the cast animations in my map? I cant seem to export a cast animation without causing the auto-attack to not function.
AMAZING! imported a cryptlord model with NO problems, thank you very much. only problem im experiences now is that he has no attack animation. any clues on how to fix this?
Also how to i get the models to export with weapons that i attach to them in the WOW model viewer?
there is also the problem that with the imported models i reach the maximum map size very fast
or is there a workaround for this?
The only way you're going to stay within a small map size is by not using many models. It's a small price to pay, perhaps you can compile the files and the editor does that already.

In Warcraft 3 Blizzard stated you were not allowed to import WoW models. I am not sure if they have changed their stance though.
@Airolden: Go
any chance you have a link of some sort for this, never saw that before.

I remember reading somewhere on blizzard's SCII forums that they were excited to see if users got WC3 and WoW models compatible with SC2.
just a little fun =D

all the 4 files are saved in a folder called Etc, and then inside etc i made a new zombie folder for all 4 files to be in.

Having my fun with this..
WoW, awesome The only problem is that they're kinda big... 500kb/1mb each So, with our stupid 10mb limit we will not be able to import a lot of these
@Metrael: Go
they are a lot smaller when you compile your map, also, removing unwanted animations will also greatly reduce the size.

thats very possible to do, I already was fiddling with the zealot and made him hold two frostmournes
you can also import somewhat glitching character models, and attach weapons ingame as well.
Thanks! That worked perfectly.

I noticed that as well, it looks like we are stuck with no extra animations until we are given the ability to change animation names.
