Ok, WoWviewer doesnt work... Used 7.0.5 ; 7.0.1 ; WMV_r594_32bit_DEVWORK getting message " there where a problem reading TOC number." and program breaks...
I'm actually trying to follow along here too. Followed Molsterr's instructions, but when I import the .m3, I only see the checkered sphere with a red space. Since the WoW model viewer crashes on me too upon export, I wonder if the .m3 file ends up corrupted? Trying to use version 7.0.6.
UPDATE: Problem solved upon falling back to version 7.0.5. :)
TL:DR - If you really want this done, you have to get the community to back the people who can and are willing to do it. There has to be a demand for the models. Why would anyone would put 10,000 hours into a project such as this if the only response they get is "meh, WoW models"?
I'm late to the party - but I wanted to say AMAZING work! I'm currently working on a campaign and will be standing on the shoulders of what you and others have done here on this site. I very much appreciate it and can't wait to get what I have in my head in the editor, and out to the public... Because of yours and others skills, I can tell the stories with the game mechanics that I want, having a very polished map without having to add a footnote of "Pretend all of the Marines you see are Knights". ;)
I used it this morning. It's definitely working.
When I try to export as m3, the program instantly crashes. Does anyone know why that might be? I'm completely stuck here.

@RanchBurner: Go
Having the same issue - where do you download 7.0.5? Are you using one of the beta releases links? Which one worked for you? (I'm on Windows 7 64 bit)
edit: yes, same page - had to go back to "WoWModelViewer_0.7.0.5_mingw3.zip" to get to a non-crashing-on-export version.
