I am a total newbie to the mapping/modding scene and it has been a challenge to figure out how the SC2 editor works without documentation. As part of my own learning process, I have decided to create a series of beginner tutorial videos. This is the first video in that series.
In this video you will see how to:
Create a custom map
Adjust the triggers for a non melee game
Add units to the map for human/computer controlled players
Edit the Marine unit to add the Raven's seeker missile ability
Edit the seeker missile ability to target a point/unit instead of just a unit
Please let me know if there is a better way to do anything I have done in this video or if there is anything you would like me to improve with the recording. Thanks for checking out the video, hopefully it will help others get started with the editor!
Thanks for the tutorial dude, was very helpful for me. Showed me how to remove req's which I needed, and this is like a building block, amusing, thanks man
Well this is beautiful.. I ran it and nothing was on the map, and then i try to save it and it crashes and i lose everything.. Fuckin wonderful -.-.
Nice tutorial tho -.-
Also, does anybody know why after editing an ability you can't edit anything else? After removing the requirement for the missile i can't open the edit window for anything else. It doesn't do anything when i click modify value.
EDIT: Ok seriously i just redid everything and i still can't save without it crashing.. Anybody else have this problem?? I can't make anything then or it'll just crash!! >:(
Excellent tutorial man, good work! This is really gonna help me out! I'm just starting to use the SC2 Map Editor myself :D Thanks and good luck with future videos!
