A very very way to change ur unit color, i will making a dark archon as example.
First, go to Unit>Archon>Actor(Archon)>Event. (Or go directly to actor and search for archon)
Right click>Add event, OK>msg type change to "unit birth"; source name change to Archon (mine is Dark Archon).
Action: msg type change to "set tint color">pick a color (red or light red for our dark archon)>OK
Go to terrain, pick and drop ur archon and see it "turn" into dark archon.
"blend duration" define how fast the unit will change color.
U can use tint local to make an useful "color combine"

Nice, another alertinative is of course changing the models color paramater as well. Ethier way works just fine though so its more to prefence.

Changing model color never work with me. And this way is more useful.
Speaking of tints and colors, does anyone know how to remove the Yellow glow from the Devourer Tissue Sample, when seen on the map in the editor theres no glow, but when seen in-game then theres a yellow glow I would like to get rid of. Any Ideas?
Even though the pictures disapreared, this was humongously helpful. I dont know why people still use triggers for things that can be done in data editor. Its so much more efiecient!

I've not had luck using the model color param. Plus tint lets you tweak HDR! :D

I'm sure there is a texture for dark archon in older versions of beta

Yes, i noticed it. But this is to change all other unit color, not only archon.
No I get that, I just wanted to see if it fits.
You forgot to mention HDR gives that "glow of colour" around the unit. Higher intensity.

I think it takes less space in your map too if you do it from the data editor instead of triggers.
