This tutorial covers creating a new ability (Shockwave) from scratch, building the necessary effects, linking them together, and then creating actors for the visuals and sounds and syncing them up. Here's a video of the finished product:

i failed when i tryed to change the effect to 250mm strike cannons impact model :/ then there wont be any effect...

ahh i found out what i did wrong, 250mm strike cannons impact only have one animation so i needed it to change it to death.

Hey, great tutorial!

The shockwave will change direction if the caster moves while it is in effect (will no longer move in a straight line). Any idea how to fix this?

ummm can you accually tell us how to make a ability instead of a spacific one?.... I tried what you did and it did not work for me... and im still haveing a hard time understanding what you NEED to do to make a certain thing happen in (during) your ability... and prefrebly can you make a video tut?

I have small problem my spell don't do dmg > 2 (in my dmg effect amount=50 ) were can be the problem i cant find difference between your tutorial and my realization if you have any idea tell me moreover i cant create more than 32 point were did it my spell hit do you know why??

I also have the no damage problem, and my vital fractions are all at zero.

First of all, I'm not sure the is the right place to ask my question. Sorry if I've made a mistake.

I've followed another tutorial I've found on Riley's "blog", called Create a Missile Weapon. Everything runs smoothly, but one detail : the impact graphic plays before the missile hits its target. I guess there is a simple way to fix this, but I can't find out.

Sounds like the actor isn't associated with the right effects. Double check that "Launch Effect" is your launch missile effect, "Impact Effect" is your damage effect, and "Attack Effect" is set to none/bogus.

I hadn't saved my progress yesterday, so I just went through the tutorial again, and now, the impact graphic plays when the missile hits its target !

I'm having trouble. Some reason my ability does not show up on my ultralisk. I've double checked everything and I cannot find where I messed up. It had some error when I attempted to attach the file so I'm using drop box.

How to make an aura which constantly takes away energy and the button switches to let you stop it? LOL, by the way, I never updated my signature so it looks like I suck.
