There is an easy way exist to use models as dialogs. It was explained to me by JademusSerg
He is too busy helping noobs in chat, so I'll describe it.
FIrst, let's create a model. Since we use a portrait, we need to adjust the model to look into the portrait camera. So, just rotate the model to -15 degrees around Z axis.
Oh, btw, for this little tutorial I use dialog model created by Delphinium1987
To visualize this model as a dialog we simply need:
Create a dialog
Create a portrait type dialog item for the dialog
Hide all backgrounds and borders
Set model for portrait dialog item
Why do we use portrait instead of model frame? Because models are rotating. So, portrait.
And It gives us this:
There are actually more steps, you can see them in the example map. This map acts strange, some runs make the models twice stretched, dunno why. Later I'll try to find a reason.
The stretch may be caused by a conflict between the configured resolution and the actual resolution when in windowed mode. Resizing the window forces an update and scales it properly.
Not certain this is a tutorial, and think it would get more interest if moved to General Chat or a Development subforum.

Thank you very much, that is really illuminating.
