In this tutorial I walk you through my process of creating low poly asset for sc2 engine. I wont be covering basic staff like navigation. Lowpoly modeling, high poly sculpting, retopology, unwrapping and finally texturing will be covered in this 6+ hours video tutorial.
Couple of remarks though, in the second tutorial, when you do new stuff, take some time to elaborate on it, example; when you do the scratches in the wood, using a stencil (or something) take some time to show where you find this, or how you get to it, since some people never even used ZBrush before. This prevents that we go through the video frame by frame and see where you got these things.
Also, since you are an expert on the product, you use a lot of shortcuts, elaborate on that as well, once is more than enough, but do it at least once.
yeah my bad. I thought that I explained all my brushes but now I see that the scratch brush wasnt discussed. I will update the video as soon as I get home.
But in a nutshell:
I am using custom brush for that and I will place it in the project files today.
orb brush for making cracks
flatten brush , hard polish brush , mah polish - for polishing the surface
Hey, I watched the rest of your tutorials, I also use 3D coat ( still very beginner ) for painting, never used it for Re-topology though, but it looks like something I do need to learn, cause it works faster than in Max, which I use.
Don't update the huge tutorial, do a little separate one which just explains that specific brush. Prevents you from redoing that big tutorial.
I have just updated the tutorial and added the final texturing part with project files where you will find aj brushes, max nad ps files with ready textures and finished lowpoly mesh. Also there is decimated highpoly model and 3d coat colours palette.
3d coat is very good for retopology!
allright I will make another small video tut just about zbrush brushes and shortcuts but a bit later=)
PS. the slash (aj brush) is using alpha but it was done by using Orb brush. So the person just took Orb brush and manually sculpted one nice detailed slash and then saved it as alpha in zbrush. You can make same slashes with the orb brush but this way you will spend a lot of time by doing each slash manually.
here is the small video tutorial made by the creator of the Orb brush. He explains how he did it and why it is so special compared to the standard zbrush slash brush
Sorry to necro it, but man, it's totally AMAZING! Thank you so much, I always wanted a tuto on designing buildings like warcraft. When I'll be tall, I'll be exactly like you !;)
Yeah, I have one question : is there a way I can download your videos? I don't have internet at my house, so I could download it at my friend and watch in my home.
