Multiplayer is supposed to work in conjunction with Battle.net 2.0. It only allows you to host a game w/o using the publishing system, nothing more. There's no magical LAN support added here, folks.
Thanks for creating this tool, enabling me to get my SC2 fix offline, yay =)
When I use MapCraft and Browse the applications folder it's empty - blank, no folders or apps show. Doesn't matter if I have it set to Starcraft 2 maps or all files..!! All other folders view normal... In other words - I can't place maps in the SC2 directory cuz Mapcraft won't allow me to browse there :S
I can launch the basic offline maps and Yabot from my home directory howev. But Mimic and Behemoth dont' work, just gives "Unable to load map"..
Is there anyway that MapCraft can be used to also play replays? That would be amazing. Or if anybody knows of another way to do it that dosn't involve running windows...

Yup, looks like it'll run Replays as well. Just select "All Files" and choose the replay file from the "Single Player" tab.
I've released an updated version of MapCraft that should work fine with the Retail version of the game. You can also use it to test your Blizzard maps online without publishing them.
If I knew, that map making and testing would be that complicated, I would not have tried it. But now that the map is almost finished, I want to test it with my friends. But as it is, I followed each step above, and Extinction loads up as usual, nothing of my map seen....

The path to Extinction may have changed again, i'm going to have to check on that.
I don't see why this utility would be needed with custom maps allowed to be published and all now?
I could see why with maybe doing map tests but you can still do that via publishing it and playing in a party

If you haven't noticed, Battle.net is down. :P

Are there any versions of maps out there with different races?
I'm playing Behemoth right now and it's defintely a sweet map. I'm on a Mac though and so I can't change the starting races.

I wouldn't know, I'm only making the tool for my own custom map testing, not for melee, so I haven't even played melee with it yet.
So does the multiplayer work for anyone else? i cant seem to get it to work

Ive been trying to play offline with Behemoth's TvR. However when I open the map, the AI doesnt load correctly, so it just mines.
As soon as the game begins I get the error A script logic error occurred Player # Race. Invalid mainstate.
Im running Mapcraft 1.5 and SC2 beta 0.17. on OS 10.6.4.
Ive read that the location of the map brings up issues so I have tested it under the SC2 folder, the Blizzard folder on My Docs, on the desktop, etc.
Any help please?
SC2 Beta 0.17? That build is old, make sure you update to Patch 16.
Yup, looks like it'll run Replays as well. Just select "All Files" and choose the replay file from the "Single Player" tab.
Don't work for me since patch 16 :'(. I have "Unable to validate SC2 license [...]" , what do I do ?
@erokage974: Go
But that happens when using SC itself, correct?
I got a Error:
" Unable to labate multiplayer Swap Map. Check setting tab."
Using Win7... where can i find this temp map?
The Extinction map may have changed with Patch 16. Will check this out.
EDIT: Yup. The correct paths are as follows:
Just replace the "default" path with the one that applies to your OS. I've sent an e-mail/PM to Motive to get an update released.

This is probably the single most important app for SC2 custom gamers, can't let the thread grow too idle :P

What is the point of this now?
You can publish as private that way only you can host it. And then you can invite your friends to the game for testing.
You can use MC to play the map without having to publish it... So this technically bypasses the map/size limits.
