Starmon - A pokemon style map

At the moment, Zelda seems to be the main bottleneck: as far as I know he's practically quit mapping and I believe he's in college without access to his desktop. The patches that have come out broke some stuff, and it's mainly the stuff he'd need to fix. Maity's part is mostly done, and the terrain hasn't changed.

So does that mean there's still a chance for release? I mean they did just announce another Rock the Cabinet, a new goal maybe?

I think it would be very cool seeing Starmon develop and enter this contest. If you guys aren't using HotS dependencies you can send me the map and I can take a look. Was Zelda responsible for just triggers? I don't want to make any guarantees but I'll take a look and try to fix as much as possible.

If HotS dependencies are used maybe there could be a workaround like sending me the map without them or something.

I thought it was Warcraft dependencies they were sort of pushing us to use.

I'm not sure if we would just let someone take over from Zelda (we'd have to discuss this with the three of us), but either way, I'm pretty sure we use HotS dependencies all over the board. Like... half the Starmon use HotS models. Don't think we could really work around that. I'll bring the point up again if I get a chance though.

That might be true but I think Starmon fits the fantasy setting reasonably well.

Fair enough. I didn't mean take over for Zelda exactly but just fix at least some of the current problems so that you and Maity can get the map into a decent playable state. You guys seemed to be stuck and I just wanted to offer some help.

I talked about it with Maity. He said we wouldn't need to replace Zelda in any situation; if need be, he can take on Zelda's tasks - he knows what to do, it's more that he doesn't know Zelda's system for triggers. But then neither would someone new.

I've been a bit busy lately, but if I have time I'll try and keep poking him to see if we can give it another go. Assuming the patches that have come out in the meantime haven't broken the entire map.

I know that feeling all too well...

Maity tested things today, looks like we're still mostly good. I will try and poke him over the next few weeks to see if we can push out that alpha, at least.

I suppose this map is no longer being worked on, any chance of a release sometime in 2017 maybe or is the Starmon Map on a permanent break?

    My Projects:

Blizzard Fan since Starcraft. The Single Player story is AMAZING IMO, I can't wait for the Expansions. In Warcraft 3 I only enjoy the Custom Maps scene (& Blizzards Worm Wars).
