WoW bosses have been known to be too repetitive anyhow, which is why nobody wants to go on a "skill mashing" spree.
The one-hit mechanic is purely there because the players knows the risk of dying too, modern games aren't as hardcore as older games, which is why WoW seems to thrive more, mainly because it's "casual" not hardcore (a player who spends hours on a MMO isn't a HARDCORE player! That's just excessive playing!).
Then there's the real hardcore players, who wants to risk it all. Literally. Take minecraft forums for example, it looks like the community in some form LIKES 1 hit ko bosses and want to make the game a nightmare for everyone (But notch isn't gonna do that because it'll scare away the normal players)... This may be what we call elitism if said community brags too much about said skills.
Mabinogi G12 is gonna be released soon and it will have a final boss battle with you having a ally npc capable of fighting...
The cool aspect is that it's a fight between Gods and you just happen to team up with the Goddess.
Having the boss being invincible when in mid air and doing certain attacks is one way to stop players from mashing attack skills all the time...
Also, nothing makes a cool boss battle with an "original" or unique boss theme, along with a end credit with that musical theme (if you wanted to)...
I have no idea why the name of my boss is not displayed ingame. It´s named "Patron of the Swarm". Verethragna is my Battle.net name, not the name of the boss ^^
Wanted to repeat this, since it is still wrong in the news :/
Wanted to repeat this, since it is still wrong in the news :/
And by the way: did anyone actually try the map?
I answered your question earlier. The reason is because you created the map in an EU SC2 Editor, and the map was opened in a US game. That caused a localization error where some names and such don't appear unless you fix the map localization issues.
I played your map. I'll say that it was unique in terms of what was expected of a boss battle. I don't think anyone else thought to have a normal melee type of game be a build up to the actual boss. However, this was a SCRIPTED BOSS contest, and as such, your boss was extremely lacking. In fact, the boss itself had no real scripting or abilities. Unless that spawning queen and the other spawning units were the boss' "abilities". Other than that, the boss did nothing more than auto-attack. So it's not surprising that you received almost no votes due to that fact that it seems like you didn't even meet the requirements of a scripted boss. Or if you did, then you BARELY did.
Also before, I never said that I finished your map in 30 seconds. I said that the actual boss battle was only about 30 seconds of the whole video.

I was talking about the name in the vote & the news, not about the name in the video

It has two abilities, I didn´t have time to make more. Of course it does not use them if it is stunned the whole time.
The abilities are explained here
/€: And by the way, you were talking about a high regeneration; the boss does not have a life-regeneration at all, it is just reset after 15 seconds without beeing attacked or attacking
I think you're confusing people. I never talked about health regen, nor was I the one who made the video and killed the boss with Thors. I killed the boss with a whole bunch of siege tanks in siege mode, since they were out of the boss' range. Then I would just send cannon fodder to keep the boss busy and away from the siege tanks.
