Yay I'm really happy to see cinematic trailers from other people now... we need more work like this :D (video work). Really photogenic level design and lighting. DONT YOU WISH WE COULD CHANGE LIGHTING ON A PER PLAYER BASIS!!! Well I guess if yours is single player it doesn't matter.
I'm personally interested how you did the fog with the far clip... it would help my cines out quite a bit. Often I have to place giant buildings or rocks in the background and then far clip so I can record without massive lag. Using far clip with fog by default results in the fog not affecting the black far clip area... so I'm guessing your small dynamic skybox fixes that problem?
Guess I'll have to make one lol.
Keep up the hard work. I stopped touching first/3rd person since I discovered Bnet can't handle it... but we need projects like this to push the boundaries and get some action on blizz :D
Made the magic disappear by showing how easily Lowkey Lighting can make stuff look gooooood. Nice thing we had you on the show today and I hope we can see some stuff from TheKC soon enough too :)
Awesome work guys, more so in the environment.
While I was making this
back in the first week of beta... I found a trigger can't remember what it was off the top of my head but, basically make a search on area effect from your character via buff trigger. disable terrain/doodads outside of the trigger area. It helped a ton with performance and allows you to make super size maps beyond the bounds. You can create maps infinite in size, if you recreate the area. I don't really remember how I did it, but it helped. Only thing is places with long vision get cutt off, but, I guess thats the price you gotta pay.
I wish I still had the map... but working on something else now, something stupid dunno why I am doing it.
Also,
Female main characters in Shooter games don't really work unless its a gimmick like metriod., otherwise it just appeals to anime nerds.
I'm going to have to watch this one. You guys have done an excellent job with Project Vector. I still can hardly believe that this is all within Starcraft 2, and without custom models to boot!
This video absolutely amazed me and i had a hard time believing that it was starcraft. I had understood how you did everything in the video except one thing...the dropship scene. I have no idea how to do animations on SM units, let alone landing animations, a door opening, and a guy running out hats off you confused the crap out of me especially with the spotting system, have fun in uncharted territory looking forward to the release though i'm afraid my comp dies and lags like 2 frames per 5 secs in 3rd person maps =(
One of the blues on the home page of sc2mapster said that blizzard responded that they are fixing the wasd movement lag. I haven't noticed the mouse causing lag my self on my top down shooter. Btw are you using the ai editor or triggers for the ai?

@Gorandor: Go
hope so too ;)
Looks damn great !
Reminds me of Dead Space.
Do those door models come with Starcraft 2 or were they custom made? I've been looking for some decent doors.
@Sephiex: Go
those are the sm doors just used as doodads and actormessages to trigger them
@TheKC: Go
Ah okay, thanks.
What is SM short for, pray tell?
Story Mode.

Hah, I see what you did there. You're not fooling me! That is obviously cinematic footage from Mass Effect 2!
@Mozared: Go
You got us, but somehow it must be an achievement to recreate the whole Mass Effect 2 engine in StarCraft 2?
Blizzard should friggen pay you to bless their game with this mod.
What about the ceilings? What did you guys use for the ceilings?
@LazyCoder: Go
Some doodads in the sky with scale 10 x, 10 y, 0.1 z

Just gotta say that this is the most epic game I've seen in sc2. The visuals and sound are stunning. I wish you luck.
Also, does Malu05's picture remind anyone of that kid from Scent of a Woman?
