Hey what songs did you use for that new tailor? Other than some the voice acting (which isn't really in your control anyway) it looked very polished and professional.
Great news, everyone: I just finished the final shot of SC2: Rebirth of the Swarm, which means that filming is basically finished. Despite what some of you may think, this project was never dead and activly worked on during the last 2 years. The only thing that remains now is that I need to go through all the shots again and make adjustments to a few of them, expecially the older ones, seeing how ive gotten so much better with machinima during the course of this movie. This, however, should only take 2 weeks or less.
When im done with that, you can expect new screenshots and new trailers. The quality of the animation has greatly increased since I released the last trailer and I cant wait to show you guys what I have in store for you!
Good question actually, I dont know yet. Ive finished filming, but that doesnt mean the movie is put together yet. I think it will be somewhere between 30-60 minutes.
I just managed to finish up the reediting of all the shots of SC: Rebirth of the Swarm, which means that filming is now completely done and I can get to editing the actual movie. This is a huge step forward and means that the movie is NOT far away anymore. Alot has changed since the last time I released a trailer and I cant wait to share the movie with you. This also means you will be getting a new trailers and new pictures of the movie within the next weeks. Keep an eye out for it!
To further celebrate this, I made a final poster for the movie, which can be seen above. I can tell you that it captures the movie rather well.
I also deleted all the older stuff, including older trailers from this thread seeing how they not represent the movie good enough anymore.
Additionally to that, this would be a good time to answer a few frequently asked questions about the movie:
Q: When is the movie going to be released?
A: It should only take 1 or 2 months to get the movie fully edited and all the missing voices recorded.
Q: Whats the running time?
A: Currently unknown, however, I think when finally edited the movie will be around 30 - 70 minutes long.
Q: When can we expect the next trailer?
A: In the next weeks.
Q: Is this related to Heart of the Swarm?
A: No.
Q: Will there be custom animation?
A: While very limited, there will be a few shots that will indeed feature custom animation. Custom animation is used to great effect in this movie and you will actually get a sneak peak at a custom animation shot in the trailer that will be released in the next weeks. Im sure it will blow your mind.
Q: How well does this movie tie in with the actual Starcraft 2 story?
A: In comparison to Starcraft 2, ROTS tells a very "small" story, focusing only on one of many attacks of the zerg around that time period. Seeing how the production on ROTS started in beta before any details about the SC2 story were released, the story of ROTS will be very seperate from the story we have seen in SC2. However, ROTS will not contradict anything we have seen in Starcraft 2.
With the release of Starcraft: Rebirth of the Swarm coming nearer and nearer, it is finally time for the release of new trailers, which will for the first time show off the new animation quality that ROTS has archieved in the last year.
As a celebration of this, I will start alittle event: The new trailer will be released on Saturday, leading up to that, I will release a new screencap from the trailer every day, starting tomorrow. Which means you will get a new screencap on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until the trailer finally hits the internet on Saturday!
Ive actually have the support of SC2mapster with this event, so be prepared!
The time has finally come! The countdown is over and I proudly present you the Teaser Trailer for Starcraft: Rebirth of the Swarm! Im super excited to finally show this to everyone. Have fun! :
My god that looks good. It barely feels like starcraft. You captured that cinematic effect very well. It must have been really hard to do. I can't wait until this comes out.
Well as I am. I did not get excited from the teaser. Im sure some people will, but for me it looked "ok".
All those sc2mapster presents etc...feel kind of weird to me (and take pretty big part from the video).
Terrain seems decent, nothing suberb. Most units seem to Autoattack. Som nice effects with lightning and planets, but since it has already been seen also doesnt impress that much.
As a teaser. It just shows lots of weird stuff that doesnt make any sense. So it didnt deliver "I must see this" feeling.

Then I hope I can impress you with the next trailer or the full movie when it comes out :)
Amazing Crainy :) What I like about it is the scale of the battles etc, most machinimas I see have pathetic battles with like 20 units in them, but yours look massive. Good job!
I go with GePanda. Zerg are known to be an endless swarm... we can feel it in your machinima. Congratulation!
I liked your trailer a lot. It looks professionnal. Specially the part with the zergling dying on the marine shield.!!! Don't mind Zenx1.. He's in a mad mood :P
Hope we can see the final product before christmas 2012 :D

I wish you a happy new year! To celebrate the new year, i have three new pictures directly taken from the movie for you!
Edit: No, the Ghosts voice wasnt computer generated.
