The rank too? I know that items are not always stable, but there should be no way how a rank can dissapear unless the bank has been modified from the outside.
Nice, I'm gonna love crafting some super-powerful items :D
Sadly I don't have enough time to play the map at the moment, but I'm definitely going to try this version later and possibly give you some comments and suggestions.
Mostly modified movespeeds. Basicaly the fighters are now slower then the casters. Reason for that was the often complaint that elders were too slow. Also I had a change of heart as to wheter casters should be slower then the others or not and I came to the conclusion that it actually makes sense: They don't need to wear all this heavy stuff so wh can't they be faster.
At any rate this one might be controversal since most of the agents are slower now, but I think it's a good call. The slower move speeds increase the neccessity to place yourself right and makes movespeed upgrades and the chronobot aura more neccessary. Now Bioroid actually have somewhat of a chance of chasing you. Still only celloids will be able to realy catch up if it comes to running. Which also makes logical sense to me. There is no running from a raptor-like creature.
Anyway be free to tell me what you think of that slight adjustment.
I've played the new version a little bit. The Elder seems to be quite strong now. Since he's no longer the only guy with a revive spell, you can play more risky and participate in the action. His AOE damage is just as high as it was before, but it's easier to use it now since he isn't as slow as a snail.
My favorite is still the Speccy, because his range was not nerfed and killing enemies from the other side of a big wall is just priceless :)
I have a question about the heal. Currently it is possible to heal someone while they're still being revived (they are still invulnerable). Is this intended? It seems inconsistent with Encourage's behavior, since it is not possible to Encourage someone who is in an invulnerable state.
The specs range has been nerfed a little but it's simply his trademark and range alone doesn't win you a battle after all.
Yes it is intended. As soon as the soul is starting to be revived, it's not a soul anymore. This way you can heal someone up so that he doesn't die right away. Actually it used to work with encourage too. Don't know why it doesn't anymore. I have also noticed that reboot on the defibrillator doesn't alsways apply so I was gonna look into that.
K heres some bugs i found in new version on EU
First of all victory save bug is there in 100% of all my games. This needs to be fixd first.
Second:
Iv been playing chronobot a lot, and found some items missing for a build.
1) Yelow sphers do not add anything usful to chronobot. I suggest energy regen added or something.
2) Yelow cores do not give any speed boost. So right now its far more usful to use Large Engine Cores.
3) Chronobot realy needs a boost in attack range and angle, cos his ability to attack multiply enemies rearly use more then 3-5 targets.
4) His energy regen is realy poor x) and his sears ability lvl 10 dose not help mach.
About the saving problem. I allready fixed it ... Or more exactly I have a patch prepared for that. Don't exactly recall if I published it yet. It's becoming hard to keep track of versions. The other things you say are not bugfixed but balance suggenstions. I treat these a little differently.
About the Chronobot. The fact is that since the chronobot has been introduced, the elder wasn't played almost at all anymore. For this reason i slightly nerved him and buffed the elder, it might have resulted in the chronobot being underpowered now.
1) The "yellow shere" is actualy a yellow psi-orb and is called seer's globe. Now as the name suggests, it's more for the foreseer. However it still has more damage bonus than a regular psi-orb and it has sight range. Don't be mistaken, if you have 2 of them, that means +4 sight range. Which i think is underrated. It can provide quite some information, espiecially if there is no foreseer in the team. However, obviously the seer's globe is mainly for foreseers and there will be psi orbs designed for chronobots in the future.
2) It's a matter of prefernce realy. If you mainly care about speed, then yes, you're better off with engine cores. However there is no way you can deny that the synchronizer is a great core especially for the chronobot. It adds a lot of energy plus a skill bonus. But yes I realize that the speed nerv might have been a little too rough on him as by now he is realy slow, espiecially without manipulation skills.
3) His energy regen is as good as an Elder's, which means its realy outstanding actually. The thing is that his abilities are all quite expensive and i think they are all worth their price. And really if you don't analize every single enemy you come and across and don't need to defibrillate every minute because your teammeates screw up, you usually have no trouble with energy. At least that's my experience.
Thx for heads up on pach, plz published it as soon as pasible on EU.
1) K i realaze you right.
2) Well cos of realy low hp/armor chrono cant realy fight headon, but cos of radial heal i need to be close to tanks so i mostly run like hell, speed nerf was good, no need for boost, only thing needed is a yelow core with speed boost on it. Synchronizer is a good core but energy pool boost dosent do a thing, cos i mostly go with heal/analize and my overall energy always realy low, so energy pool dosent helps a lot...and for skill boost...well its just dose not worth to tarde for speed boost.
3) Well only thing i think is a little overcosting is a time leap, i think its need a little nerf on effect and a little boost on time and cost. Evry other skill are grate.
I am having trouble uploading it to mapster right now, but it's up on b.net EU. Just want to give the forums a notice on that as well.
Fixed the bug that made the game not save upon game end
Fixed certain crafting bugs
As you see my recent patches are all fairly small and mostly contain bugfixes. This is because I am allready working on Chapter II, some prepairations for that caused the bugs that appeared recently, they were due to large internal changes that were needed to start Chapter II.
At any rate, do not expect large changes or new features untill I am done with Chapter II. The only schedule I can give right now is that it probably won't be done before next year has started.
I just created an account so I could comment on this game and I must say you'v done an amazing job with it all, the voice acting and the programming are all very good in this map and its the best I've seen so far, I do have a few questions to ask however.
1) We've all seen the new agent Chronobot as another healer and buffer in the game next to the Elder but there is a large space yet to be filled in the select screen so I have to ask: Will there be a second support class next to the Forseer? It just got me thinking because there is only one in the game so far and although I'm at a loss as to what the class should be like at all I think everyone would love just one last agent to fill that gap you have.
2) You've talked about remodelling the enemy's in chapter one: Are you going to do this yourself or will you have to find someone to do that for you? Also will the agents get there own custom models or will you keep them the way they are now?
And lastly 3) Will we be expecting new enemy's to fight against in chapter two? Or will the bioroid make a return into the next chapter? Its just that if they have yet to be created what will be the next foe? Or will the game change from combat to something else?
And I know third and second have more then one question but its not that much trouble right?
I hope to see your reply to this message and wish you luck on this amazing game you've made!
Thank you for your good feedback I will try answering all of your questions.
1) Actually I do consider healers to be supporters. So basically I have 2 tanks 2 damage dealers and 3 supporters now. After all the foreseer can heal too with a high will skill (even though he's never as good as a real healer). But in fact I have an idea for an 8th agent and it would be a supporter, however I don't want to say anything about it yet since I am not even sure wheter i want to add him at all or not.
2) You took it the wrong way. Or more precisely you confused the terms. To be clear: Skin != Model. Skins are something very different from models even though the term "Skin" is sometimes falsly used to refer to models. Skining only means that you change the models textures not the model in itself or its animations. I was planning to add skins, but I never had any plans on modelling. I tried doing some skinning allready and even though it's a crapload of work its something I would be able to do. However the major problems is that my map has almost reached the size limit which means I can completely scrap all plans for custom skins untill the map size limit is increased (If that ever happens).
And even if I find a way to do the skinning after all, the Agents would(most likely) not be changed. The reason for that is that in my lore the Bioroid are quite a lot different from Zerg. Especially since they are a bio-mechanical hybrid race instead of a pure biological evolving kind of race that the zerg are. The Chronos however are not that different from the protoss, at least not by appearance. Therefore I don't see much of a need to reskin the Chronos. But in terms of character you'll find that Chronos are not quite like protoss, at least where Orion is concerned.
3) Yes, both in fact. The Bioroid will be back in chapter II. Probably with a few additions. But there will also be 2 new factions with their own units. They won't have as many different types as the Bioroid but you can still expect them to at least have 2-4 unit types. The gameplay will remain the same for the most part, but the objectives are quite different. I am also planning to add boss-fights.
As for the lore: in the time you're going to travel to, the Bioroid are allready being created and roam the wilderness but they are not a large invasion force yet. I think that's all I can say without spoiling.
Ok so just to give you guys a heads up: I am working on chapter II right now.
Therefore there have not been any patches lately.
I also had some trouble with starcraft patches and with my internet connection so I wasn't online at all for a week or so. Now I am back on track and can continue my work.
The current status of Chapter II is about roughly 20%. I actualy have one of the bosses almost done allready.

i think it's a good change, the casters needed a buff.
Although i miss my 5.99 movespeed assassin. :P

Well the assasin is still very fast, just not completely absurd like before. :)

Wow that explained everything and more, also sorry about mixing up the skin thing "
I'm going to go off the bat and guess that one faction is the Chronos just because we're going back in time
@Iccc: Go
Actually i said "2 new(!) factions". That makes 4 factions in total including Bioroid and Chrono. Basically this has been the plan from the beginning.
EDIT: I just realized these names make for some interesting grammar especially with the "s" at the end:
xD
I understand where the names come from.
Chrono comes from: The Greek god of Time
Bio means Biological as in 'living organism' and roid came from Droid as in 'robotic'
Bioroid = Biological/Droid = Hybrid
Chrono = Time = Time Manipulative Race
It makes so much sense!
