I thought I would post some pics of something I'm working on.
Not sure how it's going to start yet or much of anything else but I have some maps and pictures.
Now I use a lot of assets made by other people who will all receive credits, I think everything from the pictures uploaded were by me though with the exception of the models (not textures) of sarah kerrigan, dragoon, and larger zealot blades.
Anyways tell me what you think, mainly about the ghost in between the yellow marine and duran, and artanis who is to the left of the pic.
Also the original terrain from SC1 badlands and jungle terrain was all by me.
Other things to note (not sure if these are all in the pics) those designs that were on the original SC1 dragoon, carrier and shuttle. Nova (using the SK model) has a new texture for actual blond hair and her suit looks a bit more like SC:Ghost version. The Duran I made has his own normal map now so it looks better and team color was removed from his beret (both not show in pics)
Now this probably won't be out for a while and I am not sure if I want to share the assets as my Duran has already been strewn acros bnet with people claiming it as their own, might lock it all.
So yeah gimme your thoughts!

I forgot to mention Raynor now has his own vulture texture so he doesn't look like a freak and Fenix has a unique dragoon and I retextured Karass' portrait to have those wierd bumpy faces that Protoss had in SC1. I'll try and add water or something to make his portrait look more dragoony.
Allright, here's something.
The name, "Tidings of Doom" sounds ridiculous, change it to something more serious after you decide what you will make, or give it a codename (something like "Project Legacy"), because "Tidings of Doom" sounds like cliche 3rd rate stuff that noone is going to take seriously (or even look at).
The ghost in between the yellow marine and Duran seems alright, not sure whom he represents though. Duran himself.. being a hero unit I would expect his face to be revealed, not hidden under helmet, cause look at other hero ghosts, they all are easily distinguishable from the rest cause they decided that nothing will ever hit their pretty face. I didn't see Artanis, was he supposed to be a zealot? Can't tell anything about terrain before I play the map, it feels kind of nostalgic but at the same time I'm afraid that they'll be inferior to blizzards default textures.
But retextured Karass portrait looks awesome, I want to see return of classic protoss. I'm glad that someone is doing this, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Though, a shame that you want to lock this. It'll become worthless if right people cannot apply these resources to their creations in order to to fill battle-net with great quality maps.
Nevertheless good luck and I'm looking forward to see more of this.
I appreciate the feedback, people on here aren't afraid of being honest and that really helps to get things right.
First off I realize the name is garbage but I was having a brain meltdown trying to think of a name and it sounded awesome when Zeratul said it.
I'll change it soon :)
Unfortunatly there is little I can do for Duran other than give the general look of him.
I'd love to pop a new head on there but editting the actual meshes and such is beyond my skill level at this point.
Also with the zoom in the actual game you can't see that he has the mask on it just looks like goggles.
Artanis is the zealot and come to think of it I wasn't planning on using him at all I was just making a bunch of stuff and threw him in there.
Although I do plan on retexturing the zealot so arms and midsection are skin like the SC1 zealots.
The terrain looks better than you'd expect since I have my own normal maps for it but it isn't as great as the default terrain.
I figured since badlands-ish terrain was non-existent in SC2 I would give it a shot and I like it.
I am so glad you liked the old Protoss as well, every single one was unique and a different color or something that made them awesome.
While I won't complain too much about the new Protoss it did seem to be the same head with a different headdress every time.
Now I gave it some thought and I won't lock it, but I will require people to tell me where it's going.
I don't even care about people not creditting me it just gets me really really mad when they take the credit, it's a total slap in the face to someone who made their map a little bit better.
Anyways like I said I appreciate the comments and though the process is slow, you guys should keep an eye on this :)

Looks pretty neat from the pictures. Can't wait to see more. Sucks that people ripped off your Duran.
