Hello Everyone, I am trying to make a arena game where players can pick there hero's, fight, respawn at a base as well as having monsters, and traps that spawn at random times, as well as random spots. I can make the map but I have next to no clue in how to do the triggers, I can make units, at spawn points and attack move to other points but I don't know how to make them free roam, and come at random times I only know fixed times, if anyone is willing to help or knows how to do this I will be happy for any and all help. You will be included in the credits :D
Very complicated for me to issue orders to groups of unit and such...
If it were the SC1 editor I'd find it to be much easier, because trigger is mostly pre-made scripts that you logically arrange in a manner to make a set.
Now, it's more like programming triggers.
It will be a RPG, I have found a way to make boss like monsters spawn at times, as well as random units spawning at points as for getting them to move on there own with out a point for them to attack move to I have yet to figure out.
I now have the map lay out done,
spawn points as well as monsters are done.
money making system is now done,
I need to make heroes, and make monsters attack move to a random points
Do you know how to make a hero, Because I cant figure it out... I can make a very strong clone or copy of unit give it some extra stuff and thats about it.
to make a monester 'free roam' just was the wander ability, you can make it a leash' so it stays in the general vacinity where it was spawned or take that off. by changing the numbers with the ability (it may be a behavior i cant remember, but its called crutter - wander, or neutral - wander' something like that, but by changing the numbers you can change how fast / far they wander or dont wander off to. if you want to assign random points for spawning / attack-moving to, make an array, include all your points in the array, then every x seconds order them to attack to the point ARRAYPOINTNAME(math random number) function. to change the timing its the same way, by using a random math function. Good idea, I only know how to do a Hero Spawn though, none of that Random stuff.
