I doubt you would listen to me, but some other guy made a game called "Lockdown Third person shooter", and when I was playing it, I had no lag, it was the same style as your game, except that it didn't have an awesome objective. I played the game with three people, and had no lag problems, despite it was a third person shooter like yours. I understand that your game is eight players in total, but do you think you could release a version that has at least four players, and if there is no lag, eight players? I really would like to try out your game, and I believe, according to playing that other game "Lockdown", I think there should be no lag problems with your game, other than that one of the players might have a bad connection during gameplay, because of a bad router, internet connection, or bad internet service. My lag was fixed by buying a new Netgear router, because my old router was too slow and laggy. Anyway, please respond as soon as possible. We are all counting on you to release your "AC130k Ruins" map. Good Luck on making your new awesome and beast game!
Great work malu, love the attention to detail and the small touches like the different sounds for the flashlight switching on and off. Little things like this make maps/games in general that much more immersive.
well the thing i see is that there is a big swarm of units in this and some peoples computers cant take that many objects, yet i still maul should just release it so that everone can enjoy his work because techneckly u can maek a private game on battlenet so its not like if you releasted it that you would have to play with people with bad computers so what i think is that you should just try to realease it that way atleast theres a chance of it maby working especialy if youve done even more work on it. if u do leave it on for a week and if its still horable take it off and wait but right now there are a tun of people waiting and hoping that you make the game public
I'm really sorry if I'm behind on things... which I am. In your thread about Project VECTOR, you mentioned that you had completed your AC130k: Ruins demo. Have you released it for public use yet, even if it's not on Battle.net? It looks amazing and I can't wait to play it, if I can.
I Agree with leather just realease it and reasently the last swarm was released and its a third person shooter i joined there team and there was no lag issue at all and its 4 player so PPLLZZ just try
Some mappers just like to release polished maps, its professionalism.
It makes them look bad if they release a map with problems, only to be scrutinized by little kids, for issues that they are well aware of.
Though, I do think that a demo of a single level would be cool to play through as a teaser, assuming all the mechanics are already figured out and in final stages. It'll get hype up for the final product. Preferably, a level that sorta teaches you the basics of how to play while still having a story line. ;]
With that said, those two have been very silent for quite some time... Maybe they got busy with other things?
'Ruins' is currently subject to redesign (me) and gameplayenhancement (malu). It will be a fullworking prototype for our singleplayer game Project:Vector (will be delayed a bit but the corecomponents will be developed) and another yet unannounced mod project in cooperation with the TSOF team ;-)
Oh and when it's released and if it's working as it should... then i wish you alot of fun and sleepless nights while you wait for the real Mods :D
I'm glad to hear this is still in development. Although how are you guys working around setting up your camera so it doesn't lag in battle.net?
Edit:
Ignore my first question.
In my TPS the unit lags being my WASD imputes and my trace-line bullets lag behind my cross-hairs.
How are you going about fixing these two things or reducing the lag?
Oh man...that looks amazing. I always wanted to make a shooter with the engine, but the latency issues just killed it for me. If they ever fix the issues, I might go back and try it again....you never know.
Hey malu05, absolutely stunning! could u make a tutorial on movement? Im guessing its WASD, because i cant find a tutorial anywhere! Well for 3rd Person Shooters anyways...

Cleaned up the thread a bit.
We're all a bit busy with Ruins right now, testing, coming up with ideas & discussing them and increasing performance. Stay tuned :p
