Very nice, u should make 3 or 4 meteors fall instead 1 and i think an AOE cursor will better ;)
This Spell was done completely through the use of the data editor, triggers were not used in any way.
Well here it is, after about 6+ hours and trying about 5 or 10 different ways to make this(starting off with heavy trigger abuse) I have finally managed to make this spell with no triggers whatsoever(even though it probably would have been 20x easier had I used them). It's amazing how the simplest of tasks in the map editor can take over an hour to figure out :)
Just thinking of how low my work is compared to this.. i mean.. its still sad that its not an original concept of an ability (which is what im trying to do), but the result is awesome.. the use of offset to make the energy balls fly to the impact zone where then dummies are created to then deal damage to the target.. on top of that, the functions you used.. it´d have taken me hours and hours to find them if i found them at all.. a friend of mine told me to make an ability utilizing unit elevation and i told him i dont want to use triggers.. lol
I better submit another, WAY better ability if i want to be top 5 :P
Someone should make "Combos" that basically allows multiple inputs of spells and/or abilities and combines it to do a "special combo" attack.
Would be interesting too in the lines of games like FFXIII where combos can be used.
For example, if someone created a Spell Psi Storm that functions like a thunderstorm, rather than a AoE damaging area, this can happen:
Psi Storm = Generates a storm that does a lightning strike every 2 seconds on a random enemy.
So what if you combine this Psi Storm with 2 more?
Maybe in the lines of Final Fantasy, where Thunder x 3 = Thundaga:
Super Psi Storm = Generates a storm that does a lightning strike every 2 seconds on 2 random enemies and a 30% chance to cause "paralysis" (unable to move/attack at random intervals).
So in this case, maybe something like 3 units can combine 1 spell, and it causes a chain reaction and instead shoots a new spell.
It is Infernal Ignite USES NO TRIGGERS ALL DATA EDITOR
The spell launches 2 missiles igniting the target and doing damage then the target goes into a fire craze trying to escape it all while taking damage over time. If the target goes by another target it becomes ignited too.
@Slypoos: As far as i can imagine about your Hellzone abi, is these what u did:
First, apply behavior make it float, then create x ball around it (may look like the infested eggs effect), then order it to attack (like order MULEs to harvest)
That all what i can imagine, but i don't think i can make it. Very great abi after all :D
And with the 2nd abi, look like same, i like the way it come and leave, like an UFO :D
Some amazing abilities in here. asaphelps's meteor effect was awesome, with the terrain deformation, and Slypoos' Hellzone Grenade was just crazy. Keep up the awesome work guys.
Maybe after the contest some of you would like to make tutorials on the abilities?
awww, your telling me you try to come up with original ideas? cmon.. i mean.. from the looks of your hellzone grenade, you can do like.. everything.. but instead you again port another idea..
still, good concept.. even though the only thing i wouldnt know how to make would be the frozen animation, the whirling and damage are relatively unspectecular.. i mean editor wise
my reflective shield most probably will get posted tomorrow.. its kind of working.. the only thing is that the projectiles are reflected in an arc rather then directly without any "movement" to be seen.. that looks weird :)
The abduction and whirlwind spells wasn't the original idea i was talking about, I'm still working on that one, though I thought my abduction spell was pretty original. :D
And remember these are all done without triggers, also your reflective shield sounds cool I can't wait to get a look at It

The Chibaku Tensei + is underdevelopment, i'm trying to make it become instant ability, which pull out all nearby enemy.

Reverse Movement
Apply a buff on an unit that reverse any movement ordered. Lasts 30 seconds.//
I still couldn't find a way to implement non-trigger behavior yet but this was still robust to be on any hero :)
