Just wanted to introduce a project that is pretty much done, with the exception of a few bugs that need to be fixed.
This map is based off of Team Fortress. For those of you that don't know what it is, it's a FPS game based on varying game modes like, CTF, capture points, etc. This map is a Capture the Flag map.
Here is what the entire terrain looks like:
The starting bases:
In game menu and leaderboard:
As you see above there is the nine classes like the actual game. A lot of the same game aspects apply. As when the scout captures the flag, it results in two points, the eng can build a turret and a teleporter (the turret will upgrade auto to a total of 3 levels every 80 seconds). The map has all the custom announcer sounds from TF2 and a few other sounds. Debating if I want to replace all the unit sounds with the TF2 ones.
Map is 12 players. 6v6
The only things left to do before this map is fully function-able is:
- Figure out how to make the changlings ability be an actual button that you click on where it has a submenu to pick what you want to look like.
- The players stat's have to be tested for balancing.
- Figuring out how to determine player slot's in lobby = player in game w/o using comp in each slot.
- Some general bugs in the triggers I ran across while testing with a friend.
Ya I have all the custom sounds for capturing the flag, dropping it, returning it, all of that stuff. Also, have the TFC sound for spawning and the sounds for the teleporter ready/warp.
lol nice pic. First I saw the 1:08 and thought "lol, 108min left", then I saw the 42 and thought "wow, two LOST numbers in one picture" and then I saw the other numbers and laughed out loud. :D
The interface is photoshop made, but the rest is easy to make with Garry's Mod.

Nice idea. Put in more open places though; other than the starting zones the map just isn't quite right. Think like as if your designing a real shooter ;). Great job on the starting zones though! The middle looks alright.
I've played a lot of TF2 ;). Wish I had a mac though for the recent mac earbuds update lol

Well I wanted people to use the terrain more to their advantage then have a bunch of open spots. We'll see how it goes with the map how it is.

Honestly, haven't thought about that. Right now it's just like the regular game. I might implement a FFS view and see how it plays out. Good idea
Thanks, it took a good week working non stop to get it to where it's at. It's pretty much done, save a few triggers/issues. It will be up by the time the beta comes back up :D
Game is coming along very well. Have been working on it non-stop. Have added some crazy features. I will be releasing the game most likely before this weekend.
If not, the latest will be September 11th. I want to submit this into the blizzard map making contest.
I am still looking for more beta testers if anyone is interested.

btw you got to put the voice wavs into the game. especially the announcer lady.
