The contest is a great success, there are 18 entries! You can elect multiple entries so don't be afraid to do so :) The winner will be the entry with the highest vote count.
Since there are a lot more entries than expected, the votes are going to stay open for 3 days, ie it will end on tuesday night.
Because of technical difficulties (we can't have more 10 choices on a poll), we did 2 polls. In order to make things fair between the 2 threads, results will be normalized. Let say the second poll have less votes, all the entries of the second poll will be multiplied by (total votes of poll 1) / (total votes of poll 2). This way if there are 2 times more votes on poll 1, the poll 2 entries will be multiplied by 2.
Clock Contest
What best to create a good community than working on the same things! Here is the chance to dig into the endless possibilities of the Galaxy Editor.
What to do?
This contest is about clocks! You know those things that give the current time. There are plenty of different ways to do it. The goal of the contest is to pick one and use the best features of the editor to make it live!
It can either be 2D or 3D, using the terrain or units, any special effects you want ... The funniest and the most beautiful realisations will win! Even if you are not a pro at Galaxy Editor come and take your chance, it's open to everyone!
Here are some example of clocks that you may take inspiration from:

End of the votes: 24 hours later
Reward
The main goal of the contest is the fun, however it's better when there's something to win :) We have one beta key and a lot of Curse Premium to give.
First: 1 Starcraft II Beta Key + 1-year Curse Premium
Just uploaded. This clock actually took me 2 days to complete. A city style digital clock :D.
The clock is twice faster the real life time, since the real life time is too slow
you don't want to wait for 1 minute just for the 1:00 to appear. haha
Codes are messy, be prepared if you want to read it.
Enjoy the clock!
*version 2 update*
changes
- Big improvement on trigger performance. It takes much less memory then before now.
- Big improvement on in-game dialog UI.
- Fixed many trigger and timer logics.
- Now you are able to set Camera views, time, and speed in setting dialog.
- Change the start sound. Nuke Launch sounds a bit weird ;p
I played around dialog triggers for the last few days, had a really good time. I guess many of you do not like how the default dailog buttons look, and I found a very easy way to make them look better. See my triggers...(Many of you might know already anyway :P)
I made the trigger really easy to read, I learnt many from you guys so this is what I should do for those new ones = ) Support Open Source!
and thanks mapster. I had a good fun making this map.
Enjoy the version 2 digital clock.
btw. If any of you knows how to make listbox/dropdown items in order, please come here. I havent figured out yet..
I call it the Stranded Clock, because its based off the map im working called Stranded For Days and uses a similar UI (aka the clock)
Anyways, Its pretty simple, uses the a day night system to dynamically reflect the "time" in the environment via lighting. Its just a map to look pretty and simple
Also bonus: only uses 1 trigger and 4 variables =D
Edit: you can see my clock in action in the firts minute or so of my latest tutorial that basically explains how i did this map
The name is Creepy Clock because my clock is made of Zerg Creep. The outer circle of creep is the hour; the creep pointer points to the minutes. This clock comes with the ability to change the speed of time; the time itself; a zerg base with some resources incase you get bored; and a "nuclear devastation" alarm timer.
Figures this happens during finals week, this was planned!
ill be sure to get something in there, and from what ive seen alraedy, itll be the most..... um.."unique" hehe.

My entry is some sort of screensaver with SC2 topic. Time is speeded up (minute has 15 seconds and hour has 15 minutes). Minute hand is Overlord (Listening to Spawn more Overlords was annoying) and Second hand is bigger zergling (named Bob). There is suprise every minute and even better every hour (=225 real time seconds). Enjoy
My entry is a clock made from spawning zerg where seconds=zerglings, Minuets=Hydralisks and hours=Ultralisks. The map took over 8 hours to make. You can change the speed/time. To change speed push space bar. To change Minuets push up arrow key. To change the hour push W. Hope you like it :).
hello, just posting in here to ask are we allowed to submit more than one entry ? one of my ideas seems to already have been used before :p but I spent a good amount of time learning how to do it so would still like to submit it.

Post the map here :)
Count me in :)
I assume it is okay to not use ' Real Life Time ' however make it follow a faster time period long as it reflects a real clock...
Yes of course :)
I've done a little map in one hour to make a basic example. If you are lost with the triggers you can easily copy & paste them.
@vjeux: Go
Localization errors :(

:D the first DIGITAL clock.
A sun clock.
I didn't actually change the color of the lights, as that should be tileset-dependent. Shows how to easily simulate the movement of a sun.
Edit: IV should be VI :D
