srsly, Blizzard is doing a great job. Even if not at mapping (what they do, in my opinion, but you may think otherwise, i don't know) so at least at inspiring the community. Isn't that good? I mean they promised us four maps with pretty unique models, some of them with pretty unique gameplay things. Why blaming them, now?
But gj @ programmer, too!
i know what you mean, but they should help us(community) with things which we rly need not something like that , what they show at blizzcon ? almost nothing....only data specialist gave us some cool presentation, anyway ...you see my point :<

Yes, i do, and trust me (even if i hadn't released a map so far) i am not really agreeing with things like the popularity-system and some other stuff they do. But really, is this a reason to blame them? They DO a pretty good job in matters of community-communication. I mean, the weekly(?) Q&As, where you can point out bugs and missing features of the editor and get some help from guys, who are really into it and everything they did at the Blizzcon has nothing to do with bad work. I am really looking forward to play the blizzard maps, because most maps we see at the battle.net (no offense, sirs!) are pretty bad, sadly. So why shouldn't Blizzard start the real map making progress by being a good example?
And at least we get fucking MOAR MODELS! NEED!
They had to create everything including the triggers and dialog borders and such as well. And generally, if they make something using their own editor with dialog triggers, its not gonna be hard to recreate. They had to come up with this idea and make it.
On a side note, excellent job, i recreated it too just to show i could, but the only thing i couldnt get right was the little stat buttons for life and such. Only messed around for a few hours and didn't really wanna do anything with it so i left out the stat bubble things.
Edit: By the way, do you actually know the files used for the borders and such, or did you just screenshot the dialog they made and use that as your image? Looks like you just took a picture of theirs and made it your background picture after cropping out their texts and such
I have looked through the triggers hundres of times ok maybe 10 times but how do you get the rotating unit to come up on your dialog? I'm assuming its the actor actions but they don't make any sense to me
edit. nm progammer you use a custom ui that you made and imported yea?
Is there a way to get a similar effect without your custom ui?
He spawns a unit in a corner of the map, with a black background. So it's not really appearing in a dialog. If that would be possible, I'd be interested to know how.
Ok this is freakin awesome but I have a problem. My screen is probably smaller than every1 elses and when i loaded your map the UI was all messed up so i had to fix it. But in doing this it probably messed it up on people with larger screens. I can probably have them type something like -widescreen or -reset to get the UI to fit on their screen, but is there a way to get the UI to fit on anyone's screen without user interaction?
LOL YO BLIZZ YOU SUCK @ MAPPING LUL

I have had the same exact thing (no cool ui surrounding the unit) since last month. What's the uproar about?

No way, I'm not evil, nor am I on the side of evil, nor did I serve evil...

Well with this new patch 1.2, i'm pretty sure it will be possible in the exact same way as the official dota map.
Programmer im bumping for a MPI system so we can use it for our multiplayer maps ::)
