If it beats you, it'll only beat you the first time - but it was really only meant to fight other AI and people that don't pay close enough attention; while I haven't tested this, I doubt that the other competitors will be able to adapt to my unorthodox strategy, though the rush-friendly terrain modifications might almost be considered cheating, especially as I was too lazy to make it 100% symmetrical. Not that it matters, the way WOPR fights, and not bad for a single day's work.
I'll set it up against Behemoth, I'm fairly certain your "strategy" wouldn't stand a chance. This took you a day of work?
Mimic is awesome, wish some of you rockin players would make some banks and post them @ teamliquids thread, all of them rocked BTW keep up the good work and give the rest of use something to do :D
Aww.... didn't think Behemoth would be microing it's workers. And no, it didn't take a full day of work. Also - I graduated from high school today! Whoo-hoo! I didn't make it because I thought it would win anything; I honestly don't care one bit about the prizes. I was just bored, and wanted to see if they overlooked anything.
Behemoth AI actually provided some challenge and is great for practice. I was just wondering if future version of the map will provide the option to choose your race?
I wonder author of Green Tea Ai join the contest yet. Because it have total many strategies for each race, which he named "commander". And terran AI can do most like "walling" too.
Mimic is a really nice idea. I did play maybe 10 or so games with it, but for some reason it seemed unable to execute my builds well, and was never able to execute a sizeable attack. I really tried to make fairly solid, generic builds in every game.
I played a few games with Behemoth. The Phoenix micro is pretty sweet, but it definitely has to actively engage / go overlord hunting all the time for it to be challenging.
Overall I think it is a little bit too passive, and simply makes way too few units. I defeated it relatively easily with just Drones and Queens (no Spine Crawlers)
I agree with declytype, mimic simply doesn't make big army so hes harmless. Behemoth has perfect micro and less perfect macro. I would like to suggest of merging this 2 projects into 1 . So mimic memorizes BO's while behemoth uses that build order 100% to produce and control units in battlefield. Both projects deserves 1 place.
Once again i think that authors of both project needs to contact each other and release perfect tool for creating diamond level AI's.
Keep in mind Behemoth isn't done. The only reason it exists outside of my computer was as an entry to the contest. When it's officially released it will be much better at both micro and macro.
I don't doubt it, but it's already almost good enough to be useful for practicing. The drone/queen thing was just me messing around, but I actually don't think the AI had a large enough army to attack me at any point.

Because I didn't code in a counter for queens :P Who masses queens?
When I played against Behemoth, I found the micro terribly lacking. I built a few Mutalisks, and he countered with Phoenixes, but he never really tried to engage very well. Afterwards, when I was harassing his base, he moved his sentries / stalkers / void rays to defend. It wasn't hard at all to drag the Void Rays away, to where I could easily mop them up. And once Mutalisk numbers sufficiently outweighed Phoenixes, his Phoenixes just spread out and ran whenever my Mutalisks approach.
Also, burrowed Roaches with a little bit of timing completely wrecked his base. When Brood Lords approached, he didn't try to focus on the Brood Lords either.
I think the only part of micro that was at all impressive was the use of Force Fields. However, I found it amusing that it surrounded my Ultralisks with Force Fields. That's not micro, that's a waste of energy. Similarly, it seemed to enjoy forcefielding my choke to split up my army, when I only had 4 Zerglings and was relying on Spine Crawlers.
I realize it's not ready, but as a player who barely fought his way into Diamond near the end of the beta, I don't think it has good micro or macro right now.

This.
I played TvP and the UI made just far to few units. After it held off my first attack (12 Marines Shield/+1 + 1 Ghost) I was impressed. I went back, macroed up, and attacked with around 6 Marauders, 20 so marines, and 3 ghosts. He only had around 5 lots and 4 sentries.

The surprising results:

Currently the best AI would be Behemoth with its micro extended to the other races and Mimics macro, copying build orders and always "learning".
Oh and I'd like to point out, that a fair fight against Behemoth isn't even possible at this stage, since it has view over the entire map.

It's not a human.
The contest is now over.
