"MOTD: Psionic Warfare" is a 4 player coop survival third person shooter map and one of the visually most advanced maps on the Battle.Net. You and your friends assume the roles of psionically enhanced marines and you will make your stand in several different arenas against countless randomized waves of zerg charging your position, as well as powerfull elite and boss waves.
The map features complex and indepth third person gameplay mechanics, including melee combat, psionic combos and a shooting system specifically designed to work flawlessly with the SC2 engine - the map plays unlike anything you have ever seen on the Battle.Net.
KEY FEATURES:
indepth action gameplay featuring skillfull mechanics, including combo systems
the visually most advanced map on the Battle.Net, thanks to the use of the actual cinematic SC2 models featuring completely new sets of animations created by me
original shooting mechanics designed to work with the limitations of SC2
through the "Viking Storm" addon, fully playable Vikings have been added to the game; these powerfull weapons of destruction change the entire flow of the map once deployed
gameplay based around randomiziation: waves, bosses, aswell as special events are randomized, ensuring that each playthrough is unique and different
completely custom UI
two vastly different arenas to play in
stable and lagless (if the map lags for you, its your pc)
Killstreak abilities
A new addon is coming up that will add a large amout of new features and enhancements
NEW ADDON:
A new addon for Psionic Warfare is currently in development! Not only will this addon add a large amout of new features to further enhance the gameplay as well as the cinematic quality of the map, but it will also make the map alot more accessible! You can expect more information on it in about a month!

The cinematic models used as the player characters (be it marine or viking) in this map are not converted versions of the models that work with the vanilla animations or recreated versions of the cinematic models - they are the actual models that are seen in the SC2 cinematics, featuring all their complex shader and texture work that makes them look as good they do, ensuring that MOTD: Psionic Warfare has a visual and immersive quality that is unique among SC2 maps.
This also means that every single animation for the player characters is specifically created by me for this map and they are made to look as good as possible within a third person enviroment.

Since the maps release, a large amout of new content has been added to the map.
Aside from countless bug fixes and refinements to the map, there have been major updates that changed the game significantly.
First of all, 4 powerfull killstreak ability have been added, which are each awarded at 250, 500, 750 and 1000 kills. The killstreaks abilitys are to release a powerfull healing wave that heals every friendly unit, deploying a turret that will give you firesupport, deploying two marauders onto the battlefield that support you and finally, deploying a siege tank.
Additionally to that, there have been quite a few updates to the enemies, for example, Overlords will now randomely spawn that will support the zerg enemies.
However, the biggest update yet has to be the recently released Viking Storm Addon . This addon includes numerous additions to the map, some of which are game changing.
Most notably, the Addon adds fully functional, playable Vikings that will be deployed onto the battlefield randomely. Vikings are powerfull weapons of destruction: You can use their impressive firepower to rip through enemy lines, or use the Vikings powerfull transformation abilities to gain control over the entire map!
Another significant change is the inclusion of an ingame tutorial - there is no longer need to read through the "How to Play" section.
Finally, the addon adds numerous new waves, including 2 new bosses!
When I first played this I was like "Wha...? wWHAAAT??! How is this possible??" The design, animations, art, and visual aspects of this game are very impressive for sc2. Player abilities are kept diverse with 3 different abilities that change when combined with a melee attack. Game play is not too complicated and a new player can get the hang of the game pretty quickly as long as the stick together.
I've been trying to learn the data editor with very little luck so this game just blows my mind. The only thing i noticed was that about 20 waves into the game the game play started to feel a bit monotonous but that could have been because I only played it once.
I have been done with this project for quite a while now, but today I got up and finally made what might very well be the final patch for this project, which basically irons out a few issues, some of which I am just now capable of fixing due to me gathering experience through my newer projects, and other issues that were introduced with the latest SC2 patches.
There probably are still alot of issues/weird things with this map from an outsiders perspective, but as of now its perfect for what it is and what it was intended to be.
Patch notes:
- Significantely improved the TPS camera
- Fixed a bug that was introduced to the movement system with one of the latest SC2 patches
This is unique! I wouldn't miss something like this. It looks awesome, everything in it does, even the technical part seems well made. PSI MARINE!? Wow! Unfortunately I can't try it out because my internet is slow at the moment :(
So what did you do here, you cut out a lot of the cameras far view and use lots of fog to mask that? I am asking because I can't test the map to see.
A stupid question; How do you add a horizontal fog, not vertical?
Alright, thanks to the "mass" survey I posted to almost everyone, I got a decent amout of new feedback for this map and how I could improve it - interestingly enough seeing how the survey wasnt actually about getting feedback for the map itself, but whatever.
As such, Ive decided to give this map another go and create one final addon for it. Not only will this addon add a large amout of new features to further enhance the gameplay as well as the cinematic quality of the map, but it will also make the map alot more accessible! You can expect more information on it in about a month!
Ive also completely revised the thread.
Visual fidelity comparisons
One more thing I think people might be interested in, Ive made this comparison that compares the model quality of this map to vanilla and converted cinematic models, so you can really see where the differences lie:

Well, seeing how this map is arena based, and the arenas are relativly small, all I needed to do was put a skybox around the arena and add some fog just to make it visually more convincing.
There is no such thing as horziontal and vertical fog. However, you can heavily influence how fog appears by altering the fog values like start height, depth and so on.

The general WASD movement system used for the creation of the MOTD TPS engine is based on Shadowstorm´s TPS Engine map.
Also, a huge thanks to Jessy for beeing such a reliable tester.
