I'm not sure if I'm breaking forum etiquette by making a request/solicitation for models, so...
Since Starcraft 2's models seem "cartoony" compared to the models that formed the basis of the 2D sprites in Starcraft/Brood War, I think 3D models of the pre-alpha zerg/nightmarish invaders might fit into the current game. Here is a link of reference pictures:

I've been able to mimic the two large units by using the hydralisk den and ultralisk cavern.
I understand how challenging it is to recreate 3D models of the Brood War terran and protoss ships and buildings, let alone zerg and critters.
I hope someone will attempt this. Thank you!
P.S. The pre-alpha protoss carrier would be nice, too!
In case anyone is remotely interested in helping, here are some pictures of what I've been able to do with site operations; it's not much. I'm trying to get the pre-alpha Starcraft 1 feel.
Testing to see if zerg buildings would look similar to nightmarish invader units:
Figure 1 Used hidden alpha evolution chamber and zerg building doodad.
Figure 2 Ultralisk cavern model is by SoulFilcher, the rest can be found in arm doodads, hidden morph, leviathan tentacle.
Figure 3 Melee and campaign buildings stacked.
Figure 4 Overmind stacked.
Testing to see if protoss buildings would look okay as ships/space station:

You got some interesting results there. Nice to see my Ultra Cavern out of context, when I started editing the model I though the Ultra Cavern could be made into a fat huge unit. Where's the creep? I remember there was creep in those screenshots.
I really like how the Twilight Council looks. But Protoss were blue/cyan by that time in development so I suggest some custom textures.
I did originally have them as creeped buildings, but making the space platform terrain invisible made the creep look flat and dimensionless. So, I turned the buildings into slow air units; I got the inspiration from seeing the entire zerg fleet traveling through a wormhole and the Overmind in orbit above Aiur in the original campaign cinematic videos. Also, the melee hydralisk den and ultralisk cavern sort of resembled a couple of the pre-alpha units when viewed from above.
