Guidelines:
For Requests:
If you have specific resources (models, pre-existing graphics) that you would like to use, include them in your request post, even if its just the fullname of a certain dds file inside SC2. It'll help immensely.
Please give credit where its due, even if you weren't the original requester.
Private requests should be done privately through PM system, this is a public repository.
For Artists:
Artists, feel free to let people know you'll be taking a specific request, unless you don't mind having duplicate work.
Whether you wanna include a preview image, is up to you. I will make a preview image when I compile it into the list under your name.
All Artists will be sorted alphabetically by first initial, and icons will currently be displayed in no particular order, until the need arises.
PM me any specific needs/recommendations regarding this thread or questions.
Assuming you already have Photoshop, download and install NVIDIA Plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop(homepage) (Note: The plug-in only works under Windows, and under 32-bit version of PS) If the newest version won't work for your version of Photoshop, try the legacy version. After installing, you should be able to "Open" or "Save As" D3D/DDS files through Photoshop.
WTV is also a very useful Windows application for quick previewing of DDS files. Just drag and drop onto the executable, on the WTV window, or open through GUI.
Opening a *.dds:
A pop-up window will display asking for DDS Read Properties. Just use the default settings.
Saving a *.dds:
If your texture has alpha/transparency, keep "Alpha Channels" checked in the Save As menu.
Find a location, name the file, save it.
Under the "dds Format window" select:
Under the drop-down select your compression type:
"DXT3 ARGB 8 bpp | explicit alpha" for general icons with alpha/transparency channel
"DXT1 RGB 4bpp | no alpha" for icons without alpha transparency (reduced filesize over DXT3).

Select "No MIP maps" radio button under "MIP Map Generation".
Leave the rest default, and press Save
Alternatively, you could always save as TGA under 32 bits/pixel setting, but you get better compression results with DDS.
Download and install GIMP for Windows or Mac, visit gimp.org for other OS choices. When you have GIMP installed, get the zip file for the gimp-dds plug-in (homepage). Extract "dds.exe" into your "plug-ins" as stated in the provided readme file.

Hi onisagi. I'd like to request icons and wireframes for Sarah Kerrigan (ghost) and General Warfield. For Warfield, I am using Underp4ntz' model (chaingun) and for Sarah I'm using Unhunted's model. I was hoping you could make the icons and wireframes by editing Nova and Tychus' icons. Here they are:

Are there other pictures i can use? or even a model i can use to take pictures with? Most of those are black and white, so the icons will come out black and white, unless you want me to try to color them. For now, i'll just do a direct conversion of those into blizzard style icons.

Hey, could you help me edit the Nitro Boost to be without the flames (Making a toggled speed buff ability, so I need it for the deactivate button). I asked for help a few weeks ago in Adelios thread, then he went MIA. I tried to do it myself, but the results weren't very favorable.
I added something to the note for Requesters, thanks for reminding me. xD
Basically, include any graphics you prefer to use, or a fullname of the ingame texture. So people don't have to look for it. But if all you know is a basic name, then that's okay.
is it this one? And did you want fumes coming out of it instead? or just make it look like its completely turned off?

For nitro boost off, I made one where the thruster flaps close as well as your original request. Good opportunity to simulate animation in a toggle icon.

the closing flaps idea is great though, but the 2 flaps seems a bit short compared to those of what the nitro boost would have possibly looked like:

rofl, hey good catch! I completely agree with you on that. And no it's not a wrong conjecture, i'm pretty sure there should be more to that flap.
Funny thing is, I actually started doing that icon knowing I would have to redraw that specific portion. But i was working on too many things at once and it slipped my mind completely when i went back to working on this icon.

Edit: Fixed and uploaded, keep in mind the flap appears shorter because the mechanism involves the flaps being pulled into the chassis while they close.

Because the reason i kept it so plain, is it needs to match the nitropacks icon thats already inside the game. If it is to be used as a toggle off version.

Got it...its importing and exporting. I'll try that out later.
