This TDS map will probably not be made. :( Due to the fact that it most likely won't even be fun as a TDS and FPS and TPS are too laggy. However, if you look at the most recent posts I am considering some other ideas and any feedback is appreciated.

But I have no idea what to do with it......Anybody have ideas for what kind of game to make? I dont want a campagin style map or something generic like 'free for all, team deathmatch, capture the flag, etc...' :D Sorry if this is kind of a random question, just trying to get some ideas. I have really no clue where to go with this. It could be DOTA with guns, co-op survival, halo reach style invasion....I have no idea lol.

anyway, what about an against all odds beat the oncoming waves kinda thing? well, i say waves, but i was thinking like constantly oncoming enemies, that there get more and more, and stronger and stronger, and you have to make it to the far side to..destroy a base, kill the general, do naked dance in the endzone, something lol
Lol....Looked at that...I dont think thats the way I want to go.....As for a beat all waves kind of thing.....I dunno. I was thinking about something like nazi zombies with co-op but decided against it because its fairly limited. During some more brainstorming I thought, what about if you crash-land on some planet (like stranded on krydon) and have to survive? But again, decided against it...Don't really like the idea. I kinda want something more competitive, maybe team based. 2 or more different groups all trying to survive on some planet? Hmmm...Dunno. I suck at coming up with ideas, unfortunately (like you guys didn't know that already...).

Zombie shooter like zombie apocalypse or dead nation.
EDIT: Actually something that would be cooler would be a top down version of Resident Evil 5's Versus Mode. Choose the mercenary you want to play as(none of them are really mercs though, odd) with each having a different loadout. Gain points by winning and spending it on other mercs who have better loadouts. The loadouts are usually weapon selection with the grenade type and each having one health restore item.
The game modes are a simple kill as many zombies as you can, either team or ffa, or kill the other players most, once again team or ff. What makes the first one better is you can attack the other players causing them to lose chances in killing zombies.
Hmmmm....I looked up some videos of the game. It could be fun but it looked kinda stupid to me. The videos I watched only had the players find each other occasionally. Although maybe you could spend points you earn on better guns/ more ammo/ equipment. I'll keep that in mind when I figure out what to do with this. :D What about left 4 dead ? I never played it but from what I've heard its one of the best zombie games out there. I think there is some sort of survival mode with a generator where you have to find gas cans. Is that fun? Might be something cool to do with this. Or maybe ghosts vs Spectres? :D Dominion vs Rebels with some twists? Don't know...
I got kinda into the idea and made a trailer. But I'm not sure if I even want to make the game yet...lol

I posted the tailor, and after a super long upload time, realized I spelled 'coming soon' wrong. Ugghh.....I'm uploaded a new version as you read this....
dude... awesome trailer... im personally making a third person shooter tosh v nova (spectres vs ghosts with some other units) thats about 1/5 finished, just triggers and dialogs and stuff... anyways give ghosts to the dominion and spectres to the rebels, since in the campaign the dominion wasn't really nice to the spectres, or so i thought. You'll need to give the rebels other things to do than just sit at the base entrance spamming the attack button. Add certain points that give bonuses like a mine to get more minerals per minute (or whatever currency system your using) or nuke silos (make it harder to obtain though) Also add places where you can infiltrate and sabotage the dominion somewhat. This way players use different strategies every time, allowing for a better replayability
Edit: Just read through your link, and realized some of what i said is redundant. My apologies. But make some control points (silo, mine) outside of the rebel base which grants bonuses. Also, allow the players to enter in some vehicles like tanks and thors
Also, (not sure if you read the plan or not..I should make it a bit more clear) what you said is one of my design goals (if I decided to do this :D ). I want there to be a bunch of different ways for the dominion to break in. For example, to pass the outer gate they can
1- Attack the gate with brute force
2- Take out 1 generator to cut the door shield in half
3- Take out both generators to disable door sheilds.
The inner gate..I should probably add some more variety to that. Right now It might be kinda lame to just bring the bomb over there. Maye bomb one of 3 locations, and either one getting blown up opens the gate. That way theres some more options. Once inside, I give the players the option to take over the security room. While it would be hard to do, it would prevent the ghosts from harassing them with the traps and shut down all the turrets. Thanks for the feedback. :D
Feedback I want most right now:
- Does the game concept (link in above post) seem like it would be fun to play?
- The basement and ground floor are both accessible once the dominion breaks into the base. How many 'upper floors' would be good? Right now I'm thinking just 1 more floor would do it.
But thats just for the dominion right? What im saying is to add a way for the rebels to sabotage the dominion, but not a complete destruction, more like a hinder to give the rebels a better chance at winning. For example, what i implimented in my map, like building a psi disrupter which calls down zerg which attack everything in sight, for a certain time or until it is destroyed
On one of the floors you can implement a control room full of computer doodads which can allow you to see the progress in the game (units killed, buildings destroyed, that sort of junk) and a screen allowing you to see the entire map from a "satellite" or something. I dunno just throwing out random ideas
The rebels will be able to (probably) use the security room to do stuff like that and, like you said, view the map via satelite. Meaning the team might pick somebody to be the 'security guy'. Also, I was thinking about adding 4 mining operations. One in the dominion outpost, one inside the rebel base, and 2 in neutral territory. The team that owns them gets a cash bonus. Therefore you have more options :D Maybe the rebels could take out some kind of radar tower for the dominion, which would...do something....Dunno. Maybe it would 'jam the radar' and prevent them from using the in-game chat until the AI rebuilt it. Lol that would be funny if it kept happening.

The problem with reducing reinforcements is it lets the battle get swayed too easily. Especially since the rebels can upgrade their forces. Thanks for all the feedback, btw!

Question... If there mission was to locate a enemy base on a planet and the battle cruiser located it easily from base to send down troops then... couldn't it have bombarded the base. Also the base would have been hidden in like a cave or forest or under ground. Wouldn't it also have A.A.
Suggestion if the goal is to breach a wall instead of using the cliffs as walls why not use the valhalla wall doodads and metal fences and gates that are destructible. Make it so the facility can be breached from different points.... The player within the base must also use SCV's to repair and maintain breachs and damaged wall. Would units really tactically run out in the open instead of staying back and protecting the perimiter of the wall. Instead of a straight up land and assult... why not go special ops... have your units sneak past patrols find a way to infiltrate the base... place a nuke inside and then detonate it once you escape. avoid detecttion or when it's necessary blast your way through... plant decoys drones and create distractions to accomplish your goals. A bombardment from space would be easier sending in a small ghost or spectre team may be more efficent and better because perhaps the mission is black ops.
I care more about gameplay than how much it makes sense. :D And also the base does have AA, but not orbital defenses. Therefore the battle cruiser shot down the drop pods from orbit outside the base's AA range. That is why a ground assault is being used. I know the story is not perfect but it doesn't really even need a story. In fact, maybe the ultimate goal could be to get on the roof and destroy the AA cannon so that the ship can bomb the base...?
out of range? You would think that there would be an anti space defense such as attack satellites as well as weaponry that can fire from the surface... The base would have sensors. You know it may play out better if you went the stealth root... advance scout team... takes out or hacks the defense grid so that an army can drop down safely. If the battlecruiser could do a scan that could put the main units out side of range surely they can target the AA grid from orbit or shoot down a barrage..... the only real reason why the base wouldn't be death rayed would be because they want to capture an objective or vip...
OBJECTIVE GAME PLAY WISE... you can have three missions or types of gamee play.... 1) ghost infultration destroying AA hacking defense grid.... air strike the drop down troops to mop up....
....Well how would the specters infiltrate the base? Its a multiplayer game. Maybe thats a good idea tho. The armies don't provide backup untill the ghosts discover the location of..something... which can be in a variety of places? Dunno.....
Easily team A spawn as spectres and you have to communicate and work together... two individuals create a diversion while the other two breach a gate with raynors special ability or something. The only way to detect the spectres is for there to be a patrol of a detector from team B. Team B only has the ability to repair the defenses they can't rebuild. Instead of a military base team b could be a camp where resources are being mined. Team A is trying to raid those resources. Once team A is inside of the base they would capture cargo spread across the board within the facility until they collected a target amount or eliminated Team B. Team B collects resources to build defenses and units. Team A has to infiltrate quickly and precisely to capture resources. Team B can call in reinforcesments every few minutes etc.

The radar could reduce the amount of reinforcements sent in ... and in game chat ;)
