Ultimate Creation RPG(Working title) Its non-linear rpg. Where you choose your own road to the glory..blá blá blá. Rest will come.
Im here, to ask you(The Public). What system would you prefer?
Choosing your class at the beggining.
Or
Start with a class, then with the story you can decide what role you wanna follow.
I'd rather know what I sign up to in the beginning. One of the problems with choosing a specialization later is that the player usually cant repick. So if they don't like the decision they will have to reroll and do it all again.
I agree with Eiviyn and VoidPotato. However, at some point in the game I think it would be neat to allow cross skilling. Something like diablo 2 did where any class could have skills from another class. Maybe add the skills to items or just allow dual/triple classing where they can pick and choose which skills they want from another class.

My starting ideas was: Have one class only, that can have all skills/abilities. But we can choose what Natural Ability our Hero will possess. Like: Extra HP Regen, Extra HP, Resist to fire, Resist to ice.

Believe me, I tried that, and it's 10x more work than it first appears. Furthermore the end result isn't even that satisfying. This works for games like Skyrim, but online, we're naturally drawn to prefer roles within a group rather than everyone being jack-of-all-trades.

Clearly defined roles with carefully crafted skill sets and a modest selection of interchangeable abilities.

Hm, I understand your point. Pick a class at the beggining, and play with it. Better that way I suppose, that for the opinion.
