Can you guys stop fucking complaining? Some of you sound like ungratefull little pricks. Blizzard just gave you 200+ model assets for free, including spells, plus a few HD remasters, even though they had no real reason to give you any of it, its not like it will make a huge difference in SC2 mapping scene and this project was probably a financial loss for Blizzard.
You should be more than gratefull that Blizzard went through the trouble to do this for you.
do you even realize sc2 is in development for over 10(!) years now. Can you tell about any other game that has at least this level of popularity after 10 years past from the beginning of development? Most companies just dying if they cant manage to finish the product in 2-3 years. And people keep investing time playing competitive or spending a shitload of time in editor without an outcome. Who is ungratefull now

I dont see your point, Blizzard owes you nothing. Blizzard gave you everything. If they didnt provide the editor, you couldnt pretend to be a game developer. If you expect to make money out of the editor, then thats your own fault because thats a pipe dream. Also, SC2 was basically finished with WOL, everything else is updates and addons, good on Blizzard for supporting this game for so long. I for one am happy with the time ive spend with SC2 and the editor and get everything that I want out of it: Beeing able to create some fun stuff and share it with people that also enjoy it. If that isnt enough for you, then get the fuck out of here.

always enjoyed to see people that will eat whatever shit they get in their dish and then asking for seconds. Mike Morhaime approves this and waiting for you at next blizzcon

I have no idea who Mike Morhaime is nor do I ever intend to personally visit Blizzcon.
While I always love to point at blizzs screw-ups and act bitter about the things they could have done better (lack of communication is known to feed misplaced anger and bitterness), this time looking at sheer volume of work I can't help but to feel grateful to people behind this. If it's gonna be an official dependency then I imagine model bugs gonna be fixed in time (public TEST realm), if the feedback in proper format is provided.
So, thank you to people who took their time to make this, you're awesome! Let's all work together to make things of interest~

Exactly. For example, official blizz forum where they created a feedback thread about Art Tools, and where I brought lots of reports about annoying bugs I faced, - it's deserted for years! They didn't even post "ok, we don't care about fixing Art Tools anymore, so shut up your bug reporting faces". They just silently deserted it. So my constructive feedback feelings slid down into sceptical mordancy like a kid on sledge from snow hill.
In the same time, I like the very fact, that blizz hired people to bring the wc3 stuff to sc2, so we can thank those people for their efforts, and constructively express our further wishes, as they will possibly keep working on these things and maybe improve the models, because I suspect, they may have been some arguing within blizzard about if they should simply convert the old wc3 models, or redo them towards high quality.
Also, we all just could go to TaylorMouse's thread and greet him for bringing Storm and D3 models to us with his plugins. Btw, we shouldn't forget the fact that blizz is ok about using those models in our mods. So, they kinda care after all.
While I enjoy the Blizz editor and think is really cool to create something from nothing and specially sharing it when is done. I like to complain from time to time about it. I will not go as far as to fight about it because is not the perfect program like Unity. Is the only thing that has brought us to this site other then that we all will have nothing in common and we will never be talking to each other.
I will not be making money anytime soon or ever but the fact that the editor came as a bonus with the game it makes it all worth it. Lets the Blizz releases the next updates maybe something good will come. We cant be fighting like little kids every time somebody saids something that we dont like. I seen Zolden work and as he moves on to Unity he will be missed. We cant expect to stay here for ever especially if you have great talent and will like to get pay for it. Lets make fun maps and we have a choice to take it and eat it as is or move on. I chose to stay and make the best it as I know my best is yet to come.
Can someone extract models from PTR version and upload it. So we can start use it in real version of SC2.
But what you are asking is tell others to upload 500M content to the arcade. And do you really think someone is so at leisure to buy 5 sc2 account for this request? Also do you really think the player would be willing to download such content from the arcade?
Crainy we are all grateful for this unexpected present from Blizzard, but complaining about bugs and models is called feedback, that is the whole meaning of doing a PTR, so calm down and stop bitching.
Is Logical that they did Orcs (yo we are manly bad guys), then Humans (yo we are the tough shiny guys), then Night Elfs (yo... Tits!) and at the last minute the Undead (we are Ded! Maybe...)
I Only don't undesrtand why some models are less upgraded of Others, Maybe is in relation of the camera. So Cool Models!!

Here is another bug with Human's Paladin. The Origin attachment point seems to be twisted by 90 degrees:

yeah... i dont have 15gb free space for PTR :/

@Renee2islga: Go
he didnt really said to upload to Bnet. uploading here still and achievement to explore.
Awesome, I feel the nostalgia sinking in! :D Gonna have me some Zerg vs Undead and some fun doing recreations.
Also, did anyone else notice that they remixed the War2IntroMusic theme? It seems to be more orchestral and epic-sounding than the WC3 version.
So, a list of all HD models I found, for those who didn't download the PTR yet:
Buildings
Human
Neutral
Doodads
Units
Creeps
Critters
Demons
Humans
Nightelves
Orcs
Undead
@handclaw102: Go
any nudes of those HD models? (post images here plz, market place and tavern would best to see)
Was working on that. ;P
First batch of models:
edit: second batch
edit: third batch - no idea why the demoness is there.. but it was listed under undead as well.
Ooh, those flora and rocks look real nice :D
The other stuff was cool as well. Hehe, demon zerglings. :)
