1. How do we use the HD models of the heroes in the editor? When I place a hero, its always the old models used (and also when I test map).
2. Is this normal?
If not, how do I fix this? If it is, then still, how do i fix this?
2.1 How do I associate all the new units to their respective races? So that I may actually select a race in the editor there and it'll show everything I associated to that race.
not sure what you mean about hero models, but models for any unit is determined by said unit's actor, on the "art" tab.
association of newly created units to races is done when you create it. you can change it by right clicking on desired unit and clicking the "modify unit" option.
I know, but when I place a model in the editor, it is the old models, not the new HD models released by blizzard. When we play through SC2, we can choose to play with the new or old model. I want to simply always have the new models.
Also, for the races, it has to do with question 2. When i do select any of the blank race options, its still zerg/terran/protoss, and not the warcraft 3 races. I imagine its because the units are not associated with their respective race.
im not sure then about the races, perhapse you cant- or have to make your own race? (assuming you can)
as for models, im not sure as ive never used the wc assets before, however if its a player option, try looking in the map or player properties sections
I took them all from enUS this time, but now i have all 3 sc2 races and one blank. this is what my dependencies look like. (with or without the swarm(mod) dependency, its the same result).

Not every unit has hd models, Multiplayer Heroes and units that spawned by multiplayer heroes units have, and a lot other have too, but not all of them. You can change the referenc path in models. Tyrande and Arthas have HD in default, Uther has normal, but there is paladin HD model in war3 mod. I have 12 race in default Crace(the example), Creep, Critter, Human, Orc, Naga, Neutral, Night Elf, Protoss, Terran, Undead, Zerg.

Use 'Use Skin Set For Player' action(provided by the mod) to swap HD/Non-HD skin in game.
In the editor you would always see non-HD ones. Unless you directly modify the unit's model data.
Also the race list seems fine, what the Locale of the editor you are using, is it enUS?
