I am almost done with this map and ready to get into balancing it but I am still missing a few key components. I have exhausted all of my ideas and have hit a wall on what to do with the unfinished parts. You can read all about the project in my signature, "TnTProductions latest Project - Docking Bay 13" but its a big read so Ill post an abridged version here.
You create units to fight flying mobs that fly down a path. Your units are very weak and can't take but 1 or 2 hits before they die. Randomly throughout the game random events will occur. Currently there are 4 random events that can happen.
1. Nydus worms will spawn in which mobs spawn from the worms every few seconds until its destroyed.
2. Zerg drop pods will fall from the sky and 'stronger' units will spawn, but they only spawn once.
3. A random point in your area will get nuked
4. A roaming warp prism warps in protoss units (implemented but not fully functional)
The purpose of these random events is to actually kill the players units. Loosing some units is part of the game because the air units going down the path are relatively weak. So it's important that the players units don't become to strong.
Now, each of the units a player can buy has a purpose. Zealots are the tanks, they are the only units that wont die in 1-2 hits. Vultures are great for taking out nydus worms quickly and the higher tier unit you get, the 'cooler' the ability. I could list it here but it would take up to much time and I already have it posted on the project page, so please review it.
What I am needing is abilities, ideas and a purpose for 2 of the players units. The tier 3 zerg unit and the tier 3 terran unit. I simply can't think of any abilities to give them and how to make them useful other than doing more damage (which I am trying to avoid). Tier 3 units should be doing a lot of damage but it should be their only purpose. They need a gimmick and have a feeling of almost being required. Also, ideas for more random events would be helpful too.
I am not looking for passive, half baked ideas. If you don't have the time to play a few minutes of the game then you can't get a feel for what I am trying to do. So please, play if you plan on making suggestions.

What exactly are the T3 units? Melee, ranged, tanky, long ranged, etc. The model and name can also help spark ideas.
Like, if it was a Thor, it could have an ability to launch a line of explosives in front of it, but that wouldnt make much sense coming from a Ghost.
