Wow....That is actually a great idea. I've been thinking about doing a board game kind of thing for a while. I'm a little busy with another project right now but I'm sure this would be a great map. Why not program it yourself, Dalemil?

Yea, I think board game to Sc2 would be fantastic. The only thing holding me back from starting my board game project is that I am not quite sure how to set up the movement. Like, when you click on your token, how would you 'light up' its spaces its availiable to move?

I've thought about that too, but that still doesn't account for limiting the amount of spaces you can move. Lots of trigger for it I guess.

the only way i can think of is to make up, down, left and right buttons. whenever a player clicks one of the buttons have lots of triggers ready to get the button pressed, player's position, possible move points, how many moves the player has (what the player rolled)...etc. i don't know if there's a better or more efficient way of doing it other than making a ton of triggers

Maybe this can be done by making units immobile. Give them a blink ability of range 1 & costs 1 mana each time. When you roll a dice, you gain x amount of mana.
Alternatively, instead of the blink ability, use the up down left right arrow keys as you suggested and keep the others the same.
This is a great idea! You should make a mod with a bunch of board games and since theyre board games, most of the game mechanics will be the same. As for movement with keyboard, you can tie the blinking and arrow keys idea together. If you want movement with the mouse, should do it like Civilization.
This is an amazing idea, however, the problem of seeing possible moves still exists. Like, how would a player know all available space they could move? And if you wanted to implement things such as what if moving to a particular space takes up two moves? Also, what if you didn't want to use the map terrain method from the pic Dalemil posted?

making many different board games would be very cool but for now it is way over my head lol. i'm mainly focused on getting a set movement system down right now. also, i love civilization and that's a great suggestion. i will have to look into it.
yes, everyone loves clue. so why not make it into a mod?

I'd go with 100% triggers.
@Dalemil:
Or you could use mouse click detection to get moving.
You know... Since it's simpler...
