Currently I have a map that seems to require some type of similarity to doors as The Thing -Revival- has. I'm trying to search for a similar action to the doors in The Thing -Revival- though that are not doors. If you don't know those doors, the doors in that map (The Thing) open when approached and able to be locked for a period of time by an ability.
Need ideas for something similar to the door actions, but is not a door.
If you've ever played heroes of the storm, the walls in the home base are kind of like that. you can go through it, but enemies cannot until they destroy it if I'm not mistaken. You could do something similar, like put in one of those protoss light walls, and add a region around it. Then use triggers to filter what can go in and out.
I used a pylon for this, labelled it as a phase prism, it "warps out" when allies are near (if there are no enemies) and Warps in when enemies are near. The warp out version is just a pylon with cloak and no footprint, the warp in version is the solid state form with a footprint to block movement.
course you could also have the "warp out" model as the warp in pylon effect, that could be cool too.
This was good for me cause it's also a square footprint, making it easy to be used vertical or horizontal.
