That still doesn't really explain what the goal of the map would be. And the way you explain a lot of the things working, would require better AI than I'm probably capable of creating, unfortunately.
There's a significant difference between competing with other players where only 1 wins, and playing cooperatively where all win or lose together.
I don't want to argue this issue. I'm just interested in somebody already having this kind of project, or a great idea that I think I can implement myself.
Again, my game does that. Your goal is to build shops, and then eventually build a corporation, and then to get on the stock market. That is the goal.
And you have different paths you can take. You can be a banker, carpender, etc. You can then, once you beat the game, go back and do it again in a totally different way, so it is still fun.
I like your ideas, sure, but like I said, you're trying to use global banks which don't even exist, and I wouldn't know where to begin creating some kind of utility to do that for me.
I used to play those on SC1 and Warcraft III when I was a kid. I haven't see any RP map in SC2 since beta.
edit : for those who don't know, it was a simple sandbox-like map with commands to use where you could build whatever you wanted on a preset terrain.
How the game unfold ? A player make a town with quests, another player create a hero and play the other's one area like a DnD game. Or every player make a town and they use diplomacy or events to interact with other towns "our town has been attacked, we require your help" etc.
You know it really is bad starting up old forums but i know this may sound a big weird but it would be a cool idea black and white infused with roleplayism i too myself like Rp... but yet none of sc2 maps have it anyone interested on actually making a game that would satisfy this forums wanting
oh and there are games you are looking for its just there popularity is less then none. there is only one i can think of... really sad to say that :( harvest earth next generation is the game you might be looking for sure its farming but its something on the road to betterness
I actually was in charge of Harvest Earth 2 for a while, but I couldn't find a partner to help me, so its on hold.
I'm going to say once again, I haven't played B&W so I don't feel I could do justice to it, and nobody else has mentioned a desire to create it either.
yah i would though have a desire to make like a simcity or B&W2 Map just to make game because i too want to make a game where the object is not to kill someone but to go through time without hurting something :P if only people could make games like that

That's creating a competitive nature that I'm not sure I want to exist in a map like this.
If there is no competition, there is no winning...
You asked for a map about building and creating, rather than combat.
Its entirely possible for the players to work together towards a defined goal rather than competing to reach it first.
That is still compitition by definition... Your are competing with the game to reach the goal.
