i have an idea where it is a normal melee game but the cool part is you can give your units basic instructions, then select one of them, use a special command and boom, you are now playing a third person shooter. what would be the trick though is trying to figure out how to do the abilities. someone already figured out how to do the unit selection and basic combat with just about no lag, but it lacks the strategic portion or the usable abilities.

another very similar idea is a 2v2
on each team, one player handles one of the 3 races like a normal game but the other player chooses a hero to turn the tide of battle in a third person shooter with abilities and attacks. this mode will be extremely team oriented and i hope that the hero player will have multiple choices for their units with optional evolution forms
ex:
siege tank
marauder Thor
marine viking battle cruiser
reaper banshee
ghost or something along these lines

A kinda freestanding rts, i know it's hard to compete with SC2, but the idea is that each unit is a "hero" and all start out as a civilian and you give it training, Combat, pilot, leadership maybe, and loadouts, marine, marauder, sniper and so on, training takes time loadouts takes money, scrap metal, minerals whatever, also you collect tech, zerg/protoss, to build new units or items, each unit has a mini inventory, cloaking/detection requires tech.
Okay looking at my text it seems very loose or frigile anyways if someone is interested i thought i'd atleast post it.

Firstly, the idea for the map came from the user defined mode of Leauge of Legends called All Mid All Random.
Basically, the mode is all about its name, everyone pick a random character and go to mid lane. The are also a lot of other user rules and restrictions, that are not supported on game rules level and remain on fair play.
Actually, my idea isn't about creating a new dota with AMAR rules BUT to evolve the whole concept of dota style maps. I know that this moba style got a lot of attention from developers and there are already a lot of stand-alone dota projects. Unfortunately, most of them do not incorporate any radical changes, just new looks and small features.
So the goal is to invent some new concepts to moba style games, make it somehow more fun and enjoyable.
I think of cutting of any creep/grinding system, leaving the pure fight and team play. The characters should be strictly specialized, the fight should be based on combining spells, using sophisticated combos to outplay the opponent (i.e. fire igniting spores, producing an explosion).
As far as I see, this could require some complicated scripting and mostly tool experience. I had some experience with world edit and I have some skills in C#, so I definitely understand the concepts, but I don't know the sc2 editor well.
It would be great to have a support from experienced sc2 editors. I'll share a lot more of my ideas if the community would be interested in the whole concept.
P.S. I guess there might be similar projects ongoing, I' ll be glad to learn about them.
Good sex = seduce first, kiss, then foreplay, then intercourse, finally cum.
Good moba = laning, creeping, then leveling, then teamfight, then destroying the nexus/main base.
if you go directly to teamfight without foreplay, kissing, etc etc. you will have insufficient lubircation imo. But hey, some people love direct intercourse, what do I know?! Just imo.
I don't mean to be offensive at all but that's probably the exact approach that keeps supplying the market with tons of alike products. The sex example is good...but still won't you be bored always having the same scenario? some experiments won't harm, no?

Anyways I did set up all basic triggers (as far as my knowledge allows) and I will to the end of this week (I hope I have enough time) Set all 45 Waves (till now) up and the 100 basic towers and 30 special towers.
What I need is a really experienced map maker, who is really good in the trigger section.
Also I have some basic issues, where I cant find the way to fix it.

People always think that someone will steal your idea. No one on this forum has stolen an idea, afaik. If they did they would have a bad reputation and it would spread among other communities. Why would you post in map ideas thread if you don't want to give away your map idea?

Anyways, right now I am working on a map called "Infestation Zero" - based on "Vampirism Zero" from Warcraft 3. I'm still in early alpha, I've got very limited features as of now, but I have a feeling that it's going to be a good map. I've actually never laid my hand on any editor before 4 days ago, and it seems that it isn't crap I am creating :P
here is one, a cross between sotis and nexus wars :D
think of a sotis type map but instead of chosen auto spawn units, sort of a tech tree like in nexus wars, players can only build in their base. all the spawning structures will be built from the hero themselves. minerals will be awarded in small, scaled doses (such as 1 min for a zergling kill but 12 for a bc kill) the units will not need a different set of stats for this that way balance is maintained. heroes can be something basic to start but then evolve over time ex: a zerg hero starts as sort of a super zergling but can then evolve int a roach or a scaled down kaboomer (from left 2 die) and ect. similar tech trees for the other races going from basic unit (ling-marine-zealot) to other tier 1 (stalker-sentry-marauder-reaper-hellion-roach-zergling) then tier 2 (siege tank-ghost-viking-medivac-dt-ht-immortal-vr-modified phoenix-hydra-muta-modified corrupter) and ending with tier 3 units (colossus-archon-carrier {free interceptors for balance issues}-mother ship-thor-raven-bc-brood lord-ultra) all of the units will be sort of heroes with unique special abilities but all of the t2 units will have secondary even more powerful hero forms in case a player likes their current hero that will also be on par with the t3 heroes.
that is my idea and i think it can be well executed if done right :D
I just have this simple idea, but i think could really take off. I was thinking of a regular starcraft 2 match where 2 people control 1 race. The hard part is that you would need an extremely good co-operation between the two players to play together right. However, if you can have two team that play extremely well. You could have non-stop actions all over the map.
my idea for a map is a guitar hero style map were building come down a line an you have to type out the hot-key for it. For example (gateway comes down) you have to type "B,G" and so forth. you could have multiple difficulties with different races and speed settings. Hope some one likes it. Hey all my Warcraft 3 buddies just now are starting to get Starcraft 2 and they are frustrated cause there aren't any decent mauls made yet!
So if someone could make like a Wintermaul or something, anything really, that's balanced, that would be super duper and you would get tons of playtime from my friends and I alone! :0
I just don't have the time to make all the towers ;-; but I'm sure one of you pro editors could do it in a jiffy!
