I recently played Nexus Word Wars, by Rodrigo, and I totally believe it will get to #1 in the pop list. Right now its #3. By the way, this is written September 28th, in case the map changes since then.
My quick review starts here:
Basic Gameplay
NWW starts really slow and quickly gets very chaotic. The goal of the map is to destroy the enemy nexus. Your base spawns units over time, and players can spawn units of their choice as well as buy a variety of upgrades. The twist to the map is that each unit has a phrase above its head, which you can type to kill it. Bigger units are harder to kill. For example, the lowly baneling only has 1 letter above its name, but thors and ultralisks have long, nasty words that I did not know existed prior to playing the map. Protoss units have math phrases above their heads. Like the other races, smaller units might have problems like 5 -3 while collosi and carriers might have 11 X 14. You can spawn these units by spending minerals and gas that you gain over time. You can buy turrets, nukes, psi storms, warp gates, etc.. In my experience, matches are relatively short, normally under 5 or 10 minutes.
Features
-The very interesting score system from debates has returned. For those who don't know, this system lets you have a persistent score that carries over between matches, so you can have a sense of progression.
-Interesting Team-Selection Mechanics. Instead of a lame menu at the start of the match, you have a unit and run it over to the team nexus you want to join. But if you want to keep noobs from your team, you have the ability to lay down force fields and try to keep them out of your nexus.
-Lots of cool things to buy, like offensive strikes, upgrades, units, and turrets.
Polish
The map is well polished and fairly complete feeling. Descriptions of units in tool tips are well made, describing what you need to know about the unit, the interface looks great, and the score system adds a feeling of progression. Its obvious Rodrigo took a lot of time and effort in polishing this one. Its fairly noob-friendly (with a short tutorial to start off), except, of course, the anti-noob ability, which has the description " Use this to keep noobs off your team. You know what this does, unless you are a noob"
The Big Picture
The Good:
- Lots of upgrades and units to choose from
- Well Polished
- Score Tracking System
The Not So Good:
- Unfortunately, after playing 2 or 3 games, I don't feel like continuing. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, though.
- The tutorial does not mention the fact that you can buy stuff at the nexus. I totally did not realize that for my first few games. But again, thats not a big deal.
TOTAL SCORE
- Fun to Play ( fairly obvious, how fun is it to play a match) 9/10 Yes, its very fun to play, but it does get boring after a few matches
-Completion (Lack of bugs, polished, etc)- 10/10- so far I have not seen any bugs, and it looks well polished and well made
- easy to learn (will noobs adapt to it right away) 9.5/10 - The short tutorial was helpful, and there are help texts, but you cant really take a second to read them in the chaos of the game
I encourage you to try nexus wars at least once. Its one of few unique maps (debates was another) that is actually fun to play, and its very, very well made. I cant wait to see what Rodrigo has in mind for his next map...

I love the typing part because no one can beat me by typing more "words", but I'll be so busy typing I don't want to stop and buy things. I just want to own people with my leet typing skills. You have to have a balance of buying stuff and typing. I just prefer to type because it is my forte. Maybe some additional game modes could be implemented to where people have different roles or can pool money easily?
Its at the top because its a map that is actually different. I, along with a lot of others, am sick of playing tower defense maps, DOTA, and Nexus Wars clones. Seriously, we need more map makers like Rodrigo.

If you don't like it, you don't have to play it? Most people, apparently, like it over the general stuff. The idea is original, can't deny that, and the execution is crisp. If you don't like the style, then that's your problem, not the map's.

Cant believe this is at the top
I personally wish the game was pure typing, because I'd win.
@Kanaru: Go
Why not just make a vs game completely black screen
Player 1 gets to type in somethign.... other team gets soo much time to type it in.... the faster you type it in the more points you get..
then player from team 2 gets to type something and team1 has to type it faster.....
More points per letter , more points for typing faster..
GG you have pure typing game..... doesnt sound very fun either.
