Hey there folks! Mozared and I were discussing the Current Events section on the main page and figured we need some actual events to put there.
Peoples' interests here are spread around so a common issue is that many maps do not get any feedback, especially multiplayer maps where wrangling several people is incredibly challenging. With that, we are proposing the Bi-weekly Community Testing Exercise!
The idea here is to focus an effort onto a specific map every two weeks, where our task is simply to play the selected map then come back and leave feedback. At this point, it will pretty much be at my discretion what to pick to get this started, but this can be handed off later.
Feedback can be detailed or very short, there is no word count obligation or anything like that. Standard forum rules apply, which basically boils down to "Don't be an asshole". Please be honest, but don't be rude or make personal attacks.
The creator can then optionally round off the bi-weekly thread by choosing which feedback they found most helpful - can be one review or multiple.
If you have further ideas/feedback for this ongoing exercise please leave it here. It's worth noting that, even though I have strong ties mostly just with the campaign scene, this is for all maps.
Also, creators PLEASE REPLY HERE WITH MAPS YOU WOULD LIKE CONSIDERED.
If it's a Multiplayer map, we can use this organization to get some groups together on the Arcade. I will kick off the first one sometime next week after seeing what people think here and Moz can sticky it. I'd like to spotlight this on my channel, and create some sort of reward system for the people most active with this as well. Overall this is also a good opportunity for any video creators like myself, Deltron, Danze, and Redlerred.
I hope this interests you! Maybe now we can get a new entry in the Current Events section not from 2+ years ago :) Also, make sure to vote in the new poll on the front page, whether you make maps or not.
This is a great idea, especially to get a group together to play Arcade maps that require / or are best played with more than 2 people. Maybe we could attract enough attention that we could even make this a weekly thing! There are a lot of fun maps out there.
My brother won't admit it but he's been talking about wanting to submit one of his prototype multiplayer scenario maps for this potential event once it's fully flushed out. On behalf of him I'm just putting this out there.
